Top 5 Things To Accomplish Over Break

Christmas break is a time of joy. It is a time to take a real break from college and just take time to relax. Here is a list I have came up with of the top things to do over break.

1. Sleep

Break is a magical time away from school work to catch up on sleep. Forget the endless hours you spent awake working on school work and just rest. Sleep in till noon. Catch up on the sleep you need.

2. Catch Up On TV Shows

Break also allows for you to catch up on on the TV shows clogging up your DVR. Finish those seasons. Watch all of the finales. Find out who had won those reality shows you have been neglecting.

3. Binge Watch

Eventually, you will run out of TV shows you have recorded. That allows for the great activity known as binge watching. Over break, binge watching becomes some sort of sport. It is almost a competition to see how many series you can finish in the month long break. Good Luck.

4. Love Your Pets

While at school, you miss out on the opportunity to love your pets on a daily basis. Break gives you the chance to love and pet your animals all day every day. They missed you just as much as you missed them.

5. See Old Friends

Being home over break gives you the opportunity to catch up with old friends. In most cases, you probably haven't seen these friends in months so take advantage of it. Go hang out, grab lunch, see a movie. Anything. You won't regret it.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
