I love sour candy. I love the sour sugar that coats the sweet chewy (sometimes chewy) candy and I love the fruitiness of them. I figured why not write an ode to all of my favorite sour candy throughout my life. There are some people who love overly sour candy (like Warheads), but this is for those sour-sweet candies.

1. Sour Punch Straws

These are the OG sour candies of my life. They’re not too sour to where you can’t handle it, so they’re easy to eat (a little too easy). Every time there was a concession stand, I was buying a pack of sour straws. Also, it’s kind of fun to use them as an actual straw and drink some juice through them.

2. Trolli Sour Brite Crawlers

These are a classic “sour” candy, although they’re more on the sweet side than sour. These were the most popular candy of middle school and if you had them, you were instantly popular (for about 5 minutes).

3. Airheads Xtremes

These are in the same family as sour straws, but these are way sweeter. You can tear them into little strips, suck the sour stuff off first (as I do with all sour candy), or you can just eat it all in one bite. This candy is so popular that you can go to any candy shop and get off brand sour belts for a lot cheaper, although nothing beats the original. [Also check out Airhead Xtremes Sourfuls, they’re amazing]

4. Sour Patch Kids

Obviously, these are on the list. These are bite-sized, perfectly sour and then sweet. The sour doesn’t last that long and you’re greeted with a nice fruity flavor. Plus, super chewy sour candy is amazing.

5. Sour Skittles

A classic candy with a little twist. Although I’ve never really been a skittle fan (crazy, I know), I really enjoy sour skittles. Along with all the other candies on the list, there are multiple flavors so you have a nice variety.

Don’t take my word for these, go out and try them all and rate them yourself. You’ll soon find that love of sour candy that everybody seems to have.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
