We have all been in the depths, where music is the only answer to our problems. Music is in the simplest terms; great. It can help our minds with so many situations and problems that we might face. It helps us relax, it gets us pumped up to take on sports, it helps us through the dark times, and keeps us uplifted in the positive moments. In college, I've turned to music to get me through the good days, the bad days, and everything in between. Here are the top five songs I've realized have been the most influential.
5. Yellow by Coldplay
The glimmer of hope yet humble adoration for people, helps me through the day. You can view this song as depressing, romantic, humbling, or just a time to remember old memories and it will still leave you speechless. Oh, and do yourself a favor and take a look at the stars.
4. Different for Girls by Dierks Bentley
Girls, listen to this with pride knowing that there are so many girls around the world feeling the same thing you do. Turn it up, sing it out, and when it's over you can pick yourself back up. Its okay to not be okay for a little while.
3. WTF (Where They From) by Missy Elliott
The lyrics straight forwardly say, DANCE. So get up, get your groove on and shake the stress of life off. Its okay to act crazy :-)
2. Renegade Runaway by Carrie Underwood
It is ALWAYS okay to have some girl power under your wings. Especially when your girl crush has killer legs and is a role model to many across the world.
1. Car Radio by Twenty One Pilots
I love this song because it helps me know that there are so many people that are battling fear, thinking too much, and need an escape. Knowing peace will win and fear will lose is so calming to me. Turn up your nonexistent car radio and jam out to some TOP.
You don't have to listen to these exact songs, but if you find some songs by these artists that you know you can be yourself to then all the power to you. Even if it isn't to these exact artists, know that music will always be there for you.
