Top 5 Songs Of The Week

We all love music to listen to when we drive our cars or do homework. One thing I love to do is try to find and listen to new music on Friday's so I can listen to them over the week and get a feel for if I like them or not. Since sharing is caring, I want to give my top 5 favorite songs of this week. Now remember, these are personal choices and not found on Billboards' Top 100, well maybe one or two. But I do not copy and paste from their list, this one is entirely my own! So sit back, and enjoy this little list of some of my favorite songs

5. Crumb - Locket

This song makes me feel all weird and twisty. But I absolutely love the intro to the song and many of you probably recognize it from TikTok. The singer expresses how empty she feels inside and the imagery of the music emphasizes her inner thoughts. Songs that make me think and want to listen to more of the artist are songs that I love with all my heart.

The music video for this song is trippy and you will find yourself watching over and over again because there is so much to see. Crumb has a soft voice that sounds like it is floating on clouds, and the instrumentals give the overall sounds a magical feel to it. I am not sure where I found it, but I thank the music God's for blessing me.

4. Beach House - Space Song

I found this song on a YouTube playlist a few days ago and I have been obsessed ever since! The song feels like a journey through time and space and even thought the music video is a fan edit, it is so amazing. The vocals in this song are light and airy, and when you listen, you feel the need to close your eyes and hear the entirety of the song.

Space Song is the kind of music you listen to when you want to fall asleep or just chill out. You can slowly bop your head or put the song on when you need background music. Beach House creates an ambiance that so many artists try to capture but cannot. This song is highly recommended and if you like Lo-Fi Hip Hop or slowed down songs, check out the slow and reverb version of Space Song!

3. Feng Suave - Sink To The Floor

What can't I say about this song?! I love the vocals, instrumentals, the visual, name it and I like it. This song is so easy to bop to because it has a great rhythm and the guitar compliments that. I think I also found this song on a YouTube Playlist, randomly playing as I cleaned my room and I loved it so much, I had to play it again.

This song is another soft bop, easy to listen to when you're chilling or on a nighttime drive. I love to roll my windows down and sing this song to my hearts content! Give it a listen and you'll know!

2. Tyler The Creator - See You Again featuring Kali Uchis

I've known this song since it came out but recently started listening to it again and I cannot thank myself enough for doing that. Tyler the Creator is a great artist and I love listening to his music, so when See You Again came out, I was ecstatic. His rapping is flawless and I enjoy the melody of the song.

It also has a great beat and background instrumentals that are perfect for dancing! It can also be a really chill song to listen to when you have a crush or want to jam out with your best friends. The music video is really cool and even includes a sample of one of Tyler's songs.

1. Little River Band - Reminiscing

This song is an absolute favorite of mine! The 70's have a special place in my heart and Reminiscing puts all other songs to shame. This song is perfect for a morning drive or something to listen to when you do homework. One of my best friends played Reminiscing for me and I didn't like it at first but it now makes me so happy to listen to.

I love jamming out with my friend and sharing such an amazing song. Take a listen and thank me again because Reminiscing is a big vibe check.

You're welcome for these awesome songs and I'll be back with more! Music is such a passion of mine and I love giving recommendations. It makes me happy when someone tells me they love my music and the songs I gave them are straight bops. So have fun and enjoy this little playlist!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
