“You have to watch this show”

“I finished this show in a week”

You must have heard your friends and family tell you to watch a specific show due to the reason listed above. While many people have their own preferences, there are some shows that everyone has watched at one time or another. As someone who does not like to watch movies, I heavily watch various tv shows/series. There are some shows which are directed, produced, performed, and written so beautifully that one cannot stop watching it. Also, most shows shine light on some issues occurring in real life, which opens conversation and bring change. I have listed some shows which I have watched multiple times and recommend to everyone.

Grey’s Anatomy

This show circles around surgeons who go through various struggles professionally and personally. Some characters start as interns and move their way up in the institution. One thing, I can say about this show is, not to get that attached to characters. This show will make you laugh, cry, chuck your remote at the tv, and probably make you want to become a surgeon.

Friends

This show revolves around 6 friends, Ross, Joey, Rachael, Monica, Phoebe, and Chandler, who live in New York City. They tend to stick their nose into their friends business and attempt to help through comical ways. This show will have you laughing most of the times and most people say that Ross and Rachael are the "it" couple but look out for another, which will rain all over Ross and Rachael.

Game of Thrones

A show about rivaling families who try to claim their right as sitting on the throne and ruling the seven kingdoms of Westeros. Though, it is fantasy but this show does not fail to capture the audience’s attention. This show has everything from blood and gore to incest. Each episode will have you biting your nail and be ready for plot twists.

Gossip Girl

This show is full of drama and scandal which revolves around Manhattan’s elite students from a prep school. Gossip Girl is always watching their every move and sending it out to the people via texts. This show will make you want to have friendship like Blair and Serena. Also, want you to be in their little group because who would not want to part of the elite's lives.

Degrassi : The Next Generation

This is a Canadian show which revolves around students at Degrassi high school. The characters go through what any normal high schooler would go through, for instance, breakups, puberty, crushes, sexuality and school politics.

Whenever you have time to binge watch tv series, be sure to watch the ones I have listed above. One of these might just end up being your favorite, if not all. These shows will not waste your time, instead you will yearn for more. Happy watching!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
