Summer is the time of year that everyone looks forward to. With the warm temperatures, no snow, no jackets, no pants, and no school, summer is a time for people to relax and enjoy themselves. And if you live in Ohio, there’s a place that you may have experienced before: Kings Island.

Kings Island is a Cedar Fair amusement park that has so many roller coasters and attractions for all ages. It is a great place for everyone, even if you don’t ride roller coasters. There are numerous shows, games, and food courts where you can simply enjoy the time you are spending with family or friends.

If you have never been to or heard of Kings Island, you may know about the thing that makes this amusement park famous: their roller coasters. Their roller coasters have broken many world records and become fan favorites in the park. So, if you ever have the opportunity to experience Kings Island, here are the Top Five roller coasters you need to ride.

5. Vortex

Do you enjoy experiencing loops and corkscrews in a ride? Well, Vortex has you covered. This ride is a favorite among many who visit the park. From its many loops, corkscrews and inversions, this ride is sure to thrill you from start to finish.

4. Mystic Timbers

Kings Island's newest addition to the park was voted "Best New Ride of 2017," so this means the ride has to be awesome, and it is! From its fast speed to its many twists and turns, this ride is unstoppable. You might even feel airborne a few times when you ride! Not only that, but riders must fear the end of the ride because you never know "what's in the shed."

3. Diamondback

Why is this ride so popular? Well, you can see the lift hill as you drive into the park, and it is the fastest roller coaster at Kings Island! With a speed of 80 mph, Diamondback is the park's longest and tallest roller coaster to date, and it has many drops, twists and turns, which makes it an iconic roller coaster.

2. Banshee

This ride is a real scream! Banshee is the world's longest steel inverted roller coaster and it does not disappoint riders. Reaching up to speeds of 68 mph and seven inversions, it has quickly become a fan favorite and a "must ride" when you visit the park.

1. The Beast

Even if you have never heard much about Kings Island, you may have heard mention of The Beast. This is one of the oldest wooden roller coasters at the park, and it is iconic for its speed of 65 mph and for taking up 35 acres of woods! Fans of the park will tell you to go ride The Beast because of how fun and intense the ride is. Don't miss your opportunity to ride this beast of a ride.

Kings Island is one of my favorite places to go and have a great time with friends and family as I enjoy taking on these massive roller coasters. If you have the opportunity, don't miss the chance to visit this amusement park and take on these rides for yourself.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
