In the tip of Michigan's thumb, you can find a town known for tourism, a festival and beautiful beaches.
1. Key North Family Fun Center
Key North Family Fun Center is located on the main street in Caseville, Michigan. It offers many activities such as; go-karts, mini golf, bumper boats and even a giant slide. All of the activities cost money, but it isn’t much compared to the long-lasting memories you’ll make. After a day of fun, head inside to their ice cream and yogurt shop.
2. Port Austin’s Pier
In Port Austin, Michigan there is a pier that lasts about a quarter mile long. The view is beautiful and you can take gorgeous pictures.
3. Grindstone General Store
Although it sounds like you are going to be shopping, that isn’t the case. At the Grindstone General Store, you will be eating ice cream. But, not just any ice cream, the “baby” size ice cream cone is just about as big as your head. The “kiddie” size can’t even be on a regular cone because it will fall off. The pleasantly surprising thing about the Grindstone General Store is that the prices are around the same as any plain Jane ice cream shop around the state.
4. Tip-A-Thumb Canoe and Kayak Rental
My boyfriend tells me that this kayak rental located just outside Caseville is the best rental for the price. You can rent either a canoe or kayak and paddle yourself out to Lake Huron. Plus, who doesn’t like the kayak?
5. Cheeseburger Festival
Deep-fried cheeseburgers, dare I say anymore? Cheeseburger festival draws a large crowd to Caseville every year. The festival lasts two weekends. It brings many different “booths” to the area. Around any corner, you can find a cheeseburger stand, craft stands, and concessions.
Don’t forget to visit one of the many gorgeous beaches during your stay! There are plenty of other things to do in the Caseville area, but if you fit all of these into your schedule, you’ll be sure to have a great time.
