Top 5 Reasons October is the Best

What is October? A month? Yes. The start of a new season? Yes. But what else? What else is there to love about October? I'm about to tell you.

1. The Colors
The colors of all of the changing leaves are the first tell-tale sign that it is the start of the month of October, it being the beginning of fall and all. The leaves on the many trees surrounding us change from a relaxed leafy green to a vibrant mix of yellow, red, and orange. The scenery is truly great to take pictures in front of.

2. The Weather
In addition to the beautiful colors surrounding us, the weather starts to cool down. Here in New England we go from a deathly hot summer to a breezy mix between heat and cool air. Sweatshirt season is the better term for it. We get to wear shorts during the day heat, and bundle up in our hoodies and enjoy the cold breeze at night.

3. Horror Movies
Being that October means everything scary and Halloween, horror movies are where it's at. From the classics like Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Hocus Pocus to new thrillers like Scream the TV show, the upcoming new Saw movie and many more. The feeling of snuggling up in our hoodies with our pumpkin spice drinks and being scared to death is more fun than any other season.

4. Fall Drinks
Every October is the start of being able to purchase a handful of flavorful drinks we can't get all year long. Pumpkin Spice is the most popular, you can get pumpkin spice pretty much everything from coffee to Oreo cookies. Another biggie is apple cider, very popular at Starbucks in the "Caramel Apple Spice," but getting your own jug at a place like Market Basket is just as good.

5. Fall Clothes
This is a new one for me, but being comfy in cute flannel shirts and jeans is the best time of year. I'm not too hot or too cold in this outfit because it is just right with the weather in mind. Also, just about anybody can pull it off and look cute while doing it!

By now I'm sure you've guessed it, my favorite season is fall and my favorite month is October when it all starts! I am a horror movie watching, pumpkin spice drinking, hoodie wearing fanatic, and I won't stop loving October...ever. Really, who doesn't love October?

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
