I am a huge believer in quotes. In fact, I have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to finding quotes. I love nothing more than finding a quote that explains exactly how I feel. That being said, I have a solid five quotes that I write everywhere and I always repeat to myself whenever I need a little pick me up.

1. "It's a marathon, not a sprint."

This is my absolute favorite quote of all time. It can be applied to literally any situation. It's a great reminder for when everything seems too overwhelming. It also helps put everything into focus. If you have big dreams and big goals, it might take awhile to accomplish them. Don't get upset if everything isn't happening at this exact moment, good things take time.

2. "The trouble is, you think you have time."

On the other side of having patience to accomplish all of your big dreams and goals, is the reality that our time here is limited. I always use this quote when I am wavering about something. If it is something I really truly want but am too scared to go for, I remind myself that life is short, usually painfully too short and there is no point in putting things off even if they seem a little scary at times.

3. "No matter how you feel; get up, dress up, show up, never give up."

For when you feel like you are too tired, too overworked, too hungover, or just aren't feeling yourself that day. Remind yourself that you have the power to do anything. Get up, have some coffee (or Diet Coke), blast your favorite song and conquer the day. The only person stopping you from going after what you want, is you.

4. "The best thing to hold onto in life is each other."

I'll be the first to admit that sometimes I get so caught up in everything that is happening around me, I forget to look around. I forget to check in with my roommates about their tests/presentations/lives. I forget to call my mom even though she's called me multiple times. I use this quote to remind myself that the people that love and support me are much much, much more important than that one homework assignment for that one class. Sometimes it's just more important to put the people you love first, even if it means you have to stay up later doing homework. At the end of the day, they are the people that are going to get you where you want to go so don't forget to hold onto them along the way.

5. "Life is a party, dress like it."

I'm a firm believer that the kind of outfit you are wearing will dictate your mood for the day. Even though I love my sweatpants and hoodies, I always feel like I can make power moves when I'm dressed to impressed. A wise person once told me, you'll always see the person you least want to see (aka an ex-boyfriend, ex-best friend, mean girl) when you look your worst so never give them that opportunity. After all, if life is a party, we should dress and act like it.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
