Top 5 Places I will Visit Before I Die
“Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” – Ibn Battuta

Growing up, traveling is all I wanted to do. Being able to explore more and more cultures as an adult is the greatest feeling ever. Who wouldn’t want to travel and meet new people, see attractions, and have fun?

I’ve been to most of the states, but I really want to just go to one other state that catches my eye. Other than the fact I have never really left the US, I want to go around the world and tell people one day, “I’ve traveled around the globe!” It is a dream for me and my mother to travel the world. We want to see different cultures than our own. Growing up in an African family, I want to witness other cultures. I have friends who are from all over the world telling me so much about how wonderful their countries are and recommend me to go. Down below is my top 12 list of places I want to visit before I die.

1) Paris, France

Paris, France is known not only for Fashion but its attractions. An attraction worth seeing in person is the Eiffel Tower. When I was a little girl, I watched a couple of movies that showed scenes where the Eiffel Tower would be lit at night and the view from top to bottom would be so beautiful that it caught my eye every time.

2) Tokyo, Japan

In Tokyo, Japan it reminds me of New York in a way. It is quite populated and has a lot of restaurants and places near each other. I think that Tokyo, Japan is like New York but in a different way. I would love to see so many places and just the feeling of being here and seeing so much would be so cool. Also being here wouldn't be bad at all. So beautiful!

3) Nairobi, Kenya

I grew up with a couple of friends from Kenya, and one of them told me, "Kenya is my first home and will always be my home." Knowing that Kenya is close to Ethiopia is great as well. I would totally visit a place even when it isn't too far from Ethiopia. Places I would also totally visit are Nairobi National Park and Ngog Hills.

4) Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic

The DR will always have my eye for its beauty and culture. The Monumento a los Héroes de la Restauración is so beautiful and I would die to go there. I feel that coming here would be relaxing. The music is so beautiful, the attractions are amazing, and the DR is populated. So why not visit a place that has it all?

5) Honolulu, Hawaii

It would be nice to stay a few nights at Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort. Being close to the water, feeling the nice breeze, and just laying in the sand under the sun would be quite relaxing, don't you think?

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
