Spring Break for some students is only a week away, which means that it’s time to start planning what to do during Spring break. And for most students, the idea of staying home during spring break isn’t a pleasant idea. Therefore, if you have the time and money this year, there are several different places that you could choose to travel this year! And if you're on a budget, there are still places that you can go to during Spring break. Here are the top 5 places that I recommend traveling to during spring break.

1. Gatlinburg

Gatlinburg is one of the most common places that I travel to during spring break. It’s a great place to go if you don’t want to travel too far. It’s also a good place to travel to if you don’t want to spend too much money. However, the restaurants can be a little pricey. Therefore, if you are on a budget, the best advice I can give you is maybe to get a cabin or a place that has a small kitchen. That way, you can buy groceries and eat in for a few days while going out other days if you’re planning on staying for the entire week. There are grocery stores in Gatlinburg, you would just need to look it up on your GPS, or ask the locals.

In addition, Gatlinburg has tons of things to do! There are small shops to go to, mini golfing, and other attractions to visit. You can also go to Pigeon Forge which has a huge amount of attractions such as an amusement park, go-carts, theater shows, and a lot of other fun things to do! You never run out of things to do at Gatlinburg!

2. Daytona Beach, Florida

Daytona is a great place to go to in Florida! It has a lot of restaurants, attractions, and shops to go to! One of my favorite things to do at Daytona Beach is the go-karts and laser tag! There's even arcade places and activities on the beach to try out! My family would always travel to Daytona Beach either in the summer or during spring break. It’s a lot of fun and you can go to the beach and enjoy swimming in the ocean or getting a tan.

The only downside is that it can be pretty crowded during certain times of the year at Daytona. However, if you go on spring break, it may be less crowded then going during the summer. So if you have the money to buy plane tickets or want to go on a road trip to Florida, I highly recommend trying to go to Daytona Beach during your spring break!

3. New Orleans

New Orleans is a great place to go if you love jazz music and nightclubs! And if you don’t like either one of those things, there are a lot of historical tours that you can go to instead. There’s also museums that you can go to. You can also go to the French Quarter which has a lot of shops, attractions, and restaurants to choose from! There also theaters that you can go to if you enjoy watching shows! So if you want to travel somewhere different, try going to New Orleans.

4. Washington DC

If you live in Cincinnati and want to go somewhere that’s not too far away, try going to Washington DC for your spring break! And if you love history or visiting museums, then Washington DC is one of the best places to travel! There are a million different museums that you can choose from at Washington DC. My all-time favorite is the Holocaust museum since I love learning about anything related to World War 2. It’s not the most cheery museum but it’s one of the most important museums to visit. It’s a very impactful experience and makes you gain a new perspective.

There other museums that you can visit as well including one of the most famous museums, The National Archives Museum and The Smithsonian Museums. There are tons of different famous artifacts kept at The National Archives including the American constitution. The Smithsonian also has tons of different museums to choose from. It’s a great place to go to learn more about America’s history.

5. Orlando Florida

If you’ve always wanted to go to Disney World or Universal then you should definitely travel to Orlando Florida for your spring break! Who doesn’t want to visit Universal or Disney World? If you don’t want to go to Universal or Disney World, you can also try Sea World which now has rides such as roller coasters to go on. And there are so many things to do in Orlando Florida! Besides the two amusement parks, there are also a lot of hotels, resorts, restaurants, and shops to go to.

There’s also a lot of other attractions that you can go to if you can’t afford Disney World, SeaWorld, or Universal; such as the Kennedy Space Center, Wonderworks, Ripley’s Believe It or Not, Sea life Aquarium, Ferris wheel, and mini golf. You really can’t get bored at Orlando Florida!

So if you find yourself tired of staying home during your break, you can consider traveling to these places for your Spring Break! You can even bring your friends or go on a girls trip! Traveling is a lot of fun whether your driving or flying there. And with all of the stress that this Spring Semester has caused, you probably need a vacation during spring break.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
