Top 5 Places To Visit In NYC

The Big Apple. The City That Never Sleeps. The City Of Dreams. The City So Nice, They Named It Twice. New York City.

NYC has always been a huge part of my life. Day trips into Manhattan to go sightseeing or just for a change of pace was what I lived for growing up. After all my countless adventures, here are my top 5 places to visit in NYC.

  1. Rockefeller Center

Famous for its over-sized Christmas tree, and ice skating rink, Rockefeller Center is the perfect stop for year-round fun. Along with the endless light shows and outdoor activities in the winter, the summer brings a cute and posh cafe, paired with a seasonal market of fresh goods and homemade goodies to make the perfect mid-day stop in anyone’s busy schedule.

2. The Empire State Building

From the streets, the Empire State Building towers over the endless skyscrapers. The view from the top however, is breathtaking. Taking the trip up to the top and towering over the city is mind blowingly beautiful. And in case you were wondering, the rumors are true… you aren’t allowed to toss a penny over the edge because if it hits someone on the ground, they can actually die.

3. The Flatiron District

This unique area of the city is my personal favorite. With Madison Square Park just round a corner that is perfect for a midday picnic, or a neighboring market that changes its vendors based on the season. This section of the city is perfect for someone who is looking to experience NYC with a slightly more relaxed vibe.

4. Times Square

Yes. The infamous Times Square. From the ball dropping on New Year’s Eve, to the guy handing out his mixtape thats “the hottest thing to hit the market since Drake” the tourism never ends. This is a good place to get any shopping done. You can spend an entire day here shopping and eating in (the perfectly placed) themed restaurants like Bubba Gump’s Shrimp Co.

5. The Theatre District

Better known as Broadway, this wide spread area has endless plays and musicals you could die for. From record breaking Tony winners, to the little guys that are just starting out, you are always guaranteed to find a show for you! Best part is, if you can time it right, it’s possible an actual celebrity will be the lead!!

To those who celebrate, you just spent an entire day cooking an elaborate meal with all of your favorite foods. You probably ate your body weight in pumpkin pie and mashed potatoes. What happens now? 18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
