On October 21, Pentatonix released their second Christmas album ever. And now that Halloween has come and gone, it's socially acceptable to play only Christmas music from here on out. Some songs are covers of classic Christmas and holiday songs, while others are creative new originals. Either way, every song is amazing. Here are my top five favorite Pentatonix Christmas songs:
5. "Silent Night"
From their first Christmas album, "That's Christmas To Me," "Silent Night" is a beautiful cover of one of the most classic Christmas songs.
4. "I'll Be Home for Christmas"
Another Christmas classic, "I'll Be Home for Christmas" is on the new album, "A Pentatonix Christmas." I think it's safe to say that any classic like this covered by Pentatonix will be good. While there is not yet a video for this song, I can't wait to see what they come up with.
3. "Hallelujah"
Also on the new album, the Pentatonix cover of "Hallelujah" is chilling. While not quite a Christmas song, it is on their new album and it will definitely boost your Christmas spirit when accompanied with any other Christmas music.
2. "Mary, Did You Know?"
The Pentatonix cover of "Mary, Did You Know?" from their first Christmas album is even more chilling than "Hallelujah." While this song is hauntingly beautiful on its own, I highly recommend watching the video along with it. Their video for this song is probably the most moving music video for a song I've ever seen.
1. "That's Christmas To Me"
This Pentatonix original from their first Christmas album is probably one of my all-time favorite Christmas songs. It's just a simple Christmas song. It's nice to hear a new/original song thrown into the mix, and for that reason, this has to be my number one.
Their Youtube channel has a Christmas playlist with some of these and more, and their albums are available to buy on iTunes, stream on Spotify or get a physical copy of at most stores this fall. Hope these help get you in the Christmas spirit!
