I love watching romance in television shows and I love reading it in books. At times, the romantic relationship between two characters is the only reason that I'll continue to watch a show or finish reading a book. Let's face it, we all fall in love with the same couples and ship them relentlessly. Down below are five of the best television/ novel relationships that I've come across.

1. Jim Halpert and Pam Beasley

Jim and Pam are the ultimate couple goals, it's refreshing to see two people meet in such a mundane area and still blossom their relationship into one of the best ones in fiction. From the way they interact at work to every little thing they do for each other, Jim and Pam's relationship is fairytale material. All of the gestures that Jim does for Pam is enough to make anyone tear up.

2. Lily Aldrin and Marshall Eriksen

From the nicknames "Lilypad" and "Marshmellow" to the way that they are there for each other through anything that happens, Lily and Marshall are goals. One of the best relationships that began in college and grew stronger with every passing day, theirs is unbreakable and everlasting. Like everyone, they have their lows, but they work through them together and come out even closer.

3. Leslie Knope and Ben Wyatt

Leslie Knope and Ben Wyatt are so cute, they work so well together. When they first met, it was comical because they seemed like they would never even attempt to be together. After sneaking around for months, their relationship ended and left viewers upset. Leslie's attempts to keep Ben single were fun to watch, and once they finally opened up about their relationship, their journey to the end of the show was thrilling.

4. Alice Cullen and Jasper Hale

I don't actually enjoy the main plot of the Twilight Saga. I do, however, love the subplots and character back stories. When you take a look at where Jasper came from and then learn of how he and Alice met, it already starts to get feels-y. "Alice has made all the difference. This is a climate I enjoy," is one of the things that Jasper said when explaining his story to Bella. The way that they both care for each other is adorable, another perfect example of goals.

5. Alec Lightwood and Magnus Bane

Alec and Magnus are my OTP and have been ever since I got into the Mortal Instruments. I actually started that endeavour out with the Infernal Devices and Will and Tessa are my all time favourite. Tessa and Jem are also cute together, but I just love Will. Back to the Mortal Instruments, Alec and Magnus work well together, disregarding that time that Alec considered getting rid of Magnus' immortality. The fact that they adopted Rafael and Max just gets me. They're amazing to read about and watch.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.
