With the recent death of one of our most beloved on-screen dads, Robin Williams, let us all take a moment to recognize those men who taught us the life lessons that were too awkward for the dinner table.
On screen dads are almost as important as our fathers in real life. We see in them everything we want our dads to be and realize all the reasons why our fathers are so awesome. These men have shown us what it means to be a father and how to be awesome doing it.
5) Liam NeisonWe've all seen the movie Taken, and felt a little depressed about how if we were ever to be taken by foreign kidnappers our own fathers would never have the skill set to be able to do what Liam Neison was able to do. He is the epitome of Super Dad.
4) Will Smith
Will Smith is well known for being active in his kids' lives, on and off screen. He is so supportive that he is even seen along side his children in films. In the movie the Pursuit of Happiness, Will Smith sacrificed everything to give his on screen and real life son, Jayden Smith, a better life in the future and succeeds despite the odds.
3) Red Forman
The strict father that second hand taught us to be fluent in sarcasm and that a foot in your ass is the best motivation for any sassy teen to keep out of trouble.
2) Steve Martin
The funny former SNL star is all over the map when it comes to displaying his on screen dad-itute. From the Father of the Bride to Cheaper by the Dozen, we can't get enough of how we can see so much of our own father in his characters. I know in the movie of my life, Steve Martin will be the first actor I call to play my on screen dad!
1) Robin Williams
The only dad who has the ability to swap out his role as a pop-star for nanny swag in Mrs. Doubtfire. The nonstop hilarity and sentimental moments were seamless in his characters attempt to be able to spend more time with his children.
We were all heart broken when we found out about the tragic loss of our favorite on screen father figure. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered in our hearts forever. His legacy will live on and inspire future fathers for years to come.
