It's getting close to that time of year again; the time where Halloween becomes everyone's favorite holiday to celebrate. But what makes Halloween without the scary characters that are often portrayed during the holiday? In this article, I will rank my top 5 favorite villains from the horror movies that are such an integral part to the holiday, and what characteristics they have that make them the best.

5. Freddy Kreuger

Freddy may be on some people's most scary lists because he has some of the most gruesome movies. He is one of my least favorite villains, mainly because he has the ability to kill people in their dreams rather than real life. While that's still scary, in my opinion, it's just a weakness, because he has to wait until they fall asleep to kill them.

4. Chucky

Although he may be frightening for having inhabiting a child's doll and being a serial killer, the character of Chucky, while popular for his movies, is also very unpopular because of the less scary image of being a doll who goes around killing people. The concept of Chucky is interesting, but the movies made him seem less scary than other villains because he was still just a doll.

3. Zombies

One of the most popular ideas for costumes, Zombies have been represented a lot in modern day literature and movies and pose as one of the scariest threats that humanity could face. Zombies have the ability to spread over large distances because they come from an infectious disease. Some of the best zombies representations are in "The Walking Dead" and "28 Days Later," where almost the whole world has been lost to zombies.

2. Jason Voorhees

The machete-wielding, hockey mask wearing villain with the ability to regenerate earns the number 2 seat on this list for his iconic killing style and known strengths. One of the older villains in the list, we saw Jason's entrance into the horror movie world in the 80's. However, the first movie consisted of his mother killing people. It wasn't until the second movie where we actually see Jason as the killer.

1. Michael Myers

The unknown is terrifying. Michael Myers is number one on the list because of how little we know about him. The character never speaks throughout the movies and mainly just kills people, then leaves others to tell the story for him. This is interesting because it makes Michael as one of the most mysterious villains of all time. All we know is who he wants to kill and why, but nothing about his personality or what drives him as a murderer.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
