Top 5 Go-To Foundations Every College Girl Can Lean On

First comes primer, next comes foundation. Foundation has always been an experimental process for me. It can be difficult to suit the specific needs of consumers, and new foundation products are always on my list. After trying foundations ranging from drug-store to more luxury, these are my go-to foundations ranked from lowest to highest prices:

L’Oréal True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Makeup ($10-12 )

I have used two bottles of L'Oréal True Match Lumi thus far. This foundation is definitely a must-have because of its natural coverage. This sheer/medium formula has gives a "radiant" glow and has SPF 20 protection. Finally, this product is also a favorite because it is readily available at local drug stores.

Dermacol Make-up Cover Foundation ($13)

The Dermacol Make-up Cover Foundation is best known for its color pigmentation. This product has been reviewed by hundreds of YouTube Creators and has been featured on As/Is, NikkieTutorials, and ThaTaylaa. This product is thick and allegedly has over 50 percent pigmentation in each product. I do not use this on my face because I feel it is too heavy for every day wear. However, it is used to cover body blemishes. I add a dab of this product on acne and spots for special occasions. I advise to always use powder after applying this product on the body, to prevent transfer to your clothes.

COVER FX Power Play Foundation ($44)

The COVER FX Power Play Foundation is the more recent matte product to hit the market. It was recommended to subscribers from YouTube Beauty Guru Stephanie Nicole. Her 8-hour-wear video showcased the foundation's long-wear and received a positive review. In my experience, this product is noticeably thicker than my other foundations. To balance this density, I combine it with my Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra.

Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation ($47)

The Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation was recommended to subscribers by YouTube Beauty Guru Patrick Starrr. Starrr combines this product, along with MAC Full Coverage Foundation, for a full coverage look. Instead, I also combine this product with my Georgio Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Foundation for a fuller coverage. Lastly, I personally enjoy this product because of its SPF 15 and longevity benefits.

Georgio Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Foundation ($64)

Kim Kardashian West was my inspiration for purchasing the Georgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. West's quick makeup tutorial featured how beautiful the product lays on the skin. I also enjoy this product because of its medium, buildable coverage. Finally, it delivers a genuine second skin. Because of its luminous glow, I add my Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder to my T-zone areas after application.

If you are seeking recommendations for foundation products, I recommend creating a list of features you want in your product. Here are some questions to consider before dropping by your local beauty store: What is my skin undertone (warm, neutral, or cool)? What finish (natural, matte, or radiant) is best for me? What coverage (sheer, medium, or full) is best for me? What skin-type (dry, combination, or oily) am I? What applicator (sponge or brush) is more ideal for this product?

Makeup is a game of trial and error. We can't always get it right on the first try, but it's fun to experiment. Last word of advice: Have fun experimenting with your makeup and always experiment with an open mind.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.

Mistakes are something we all make, no matter how old we get. Most of the time, the mistakes we made are little and sometimes due to something out of our control. Yet, there are mistakes that are bigger than others. Personally, I have mistakes that I wish I could go back and undo. Here they are:

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
