My Top 5 Favorite Christmas Movies

It's not Christmas until I've watched these movies.

One of my favorite parts of the Christmas season is all of the great movies that go along with it. I love grabbing myself a hot mug of cider, snuggling with my puppies and turning on a classic. Though "classic" might be different for both of us, here are my top five Christmas movies I need to watch every year:

5. 'Miracle on 34th Street'

This movie brings me back to spending the night at my Baba's house. My siblings and I would make homemade caramels with her, and she would put this movie on. If you need a Christmas spirit boost, this is a perfect movie for you. Are your little ones skeptical of Santa Clause? Put this movie on, and they'll have a different idea.

4. 'Home Alone'

Look at that face. You gotta see it sometime before Christmas day. I grew up watching this movie, like many others. If you're looking to laugh and also actually think about the meaning of Christmas, this movie needs to be on!

3. 'A Christmas Story'

I remember the first time I watched this movie. I was pretty young and my brother and sister would snuggle together and giggle at this movie. This movie also scarred me: I will never lick a frozen pole. Ever.

2. 'Elf'

OK, so this one is kind of obvious. I mean, Will Ferrell in tights? What's funnier than that? This is a movie that I have to watch each year. And it never gets old. Will Ferrell totally shines in this movie; he totally kills me with this character.

1. 'Home Alone 2: Lost in New York'

Am I the only one that thinks Home Alone 2 is better than the first? Might be. I don't care though. This movie is my all-time favorite Christmas movie. There's so many laughable moments in this one, not to mention I love New York... that might be a part of it. Every year, I watch this movie with my brother and sister, and we pretty much can recite the whole thing. It's not Christmas for me until I've seen this.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
