Top 5 Embarrassing Moments On Live TV

I don't know about you, but I get embarrassed very easily, and knowing me, my entire life is just one embarrassing moment after another. If you're anything like that, here's a list of uncomfortably awkward moments on live TV that will never be lived down, and will hopefully make you feel a little better about yourself.

1. Steve Harvey announcing the wrong winner of Miss Universe (2015)

There's nothing more uncomfortable than thinking that you've won, when you actually haven't. And vice versa. At the 2015 Miss Universe pageant, TV host Steve Harvey announced Miss Colombia as the winner, instead of Miss Philippines. Outrage ensued when Miss Colombia was stripped of her newly placed crown, when Miss Philippines barely received any screen time, and when it was suggested that two titles be awarded.

2. Stacey Dash wishing everyone a happy Black History Month at the Oscars (2016)

Stacey Dash was selected as the Academy Director of Diversity Outreach, and made an appearance on the academy award stage, proclaiming, "Happy Black History Month," which was met by an awkward silence from the entire crowd. For those of you that don't know, Stacey Dash is also known for making many anti-feminist remarks, as well as remarks about why Black History Month shouldn't exist. This helped continue dialogue on a hashtag on social media, #OscarsSoWhite.

3. Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift at the MTV VMAs (2009)

Although this happened almost seven years ago, this infamous incident caused constant rivalry between the artists even to this day. At the 2009 Video Music Awards, Kanye stole the microphone from Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech with a "I'mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had the best video of all time." Looks like neither of them is going to give up this fight anytime soon.

4. Ariana Grande getting hit in the face by a Victoria's Secret Angel (2014)

To be honest, this was more funny than anything. At the 2014 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, one of the models accidentally smacked Ariana Grande in the face with her wings during her performance of "Bang Bang." While she kept singing, the face Ariana made when this happened was iconic.

5. John Travolta mispronounces Idina Menzel's name at the Oscars (2014)

Seems like a lot of embarrassing things happen on the stage of this annual academy award show. An unforgettable moment two years ago occurred when John Travolta pronounced Idina Menzel's name as "Adele Dazeem." Not really sure where he got that from. To return the favor, at the 2015 Oscars, Menzel pronounces Travolta's name as "Glom Gazingo."

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
