February 17, 1991. This was the day, 26 years ago, that one of England's most beloved superstars was born: Ed Sheeran. One of my personal favorites, if I'm being honest. Come on, his music has hit every single one of us in the feels at one point or another, don't lie. So in honor of this beautiful soul's birthday, its time to celebrate his best songs (this was a very daunting task).
1. Thinking Out Loud
This song gets me every single time. Seriously, this is the ultimate love song, and it showcases his talents beautifully.
But baby now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart
I'm thinking out loud
That maybe we found love right where we are
2. Shape of You
This is my current top party jam. I listen to it at least five times daily (sometimes in a row), and I am not ashamed to admit it. Even my little brother enjoys it, but don't tell anyone I said that.
I'm in love with the shape of you
We push and pull like a magnet do
Although my heart is falling too
I'm in love with your body
And last night you were in my room
And now my bedsheets smell like you
3. Photograph
This guy is really good at breaking your heart and mending it after it's all over, and this song is the epitome of that particular skill.
So you can keep me
Inside the pocket of your ripped jeans
Holding me closer 'til our eyes meet
You won't ever be alone, wait for me to come home
4. Lego House
Not sure if you want to dance or wallow in your feelings? Then this is the Ed Sheeran song for you.
I'm gonna paint you by numbers and color you in
If things go right we can frame it, and put you on a wall
5. Don't
We all need that sass, right?
And I wasn't looking for a promise or commitment
But it was never just fun and I thought you were different
This is not the way you realize that you want it
It's a bit too much too late if I'm honestI
Happy Birthday, Ed!
