The Top 5 Easiest Ways To Spend All Your Money In College

1. Eating Out

Eating out is hands down the easiest way to spend your entire lifesavings and then some in college. When you move away from home, so many new restaurants and places to eat pop up on your radar. Before you know it, you actually are eating ramen and diet coke for every meal.

2. Shopping

A close second to eating out, shopping is the number two bank account killer. College is a place where you can reinvent yourself, or finally let your true colors shine. You obviously need a new outfit for every occasion…right?

3. Rent

Along with going to college comes eventually living off campus, which presents the inevitable: rent. It can range anywhere from super cheap to the price of a New York apartment in the middle of the city. The possibilities are endless. Oh, and don’t forget, you clearly have to decorate.

4. School Supplies

Books alone in college can easily run up a $900+ tab. Most times used books are fine and are clearly the cheaper (better) option, but of course there’s always that one teacher who requires the Access Code. Naturally, that’s the $300 Biology book that has to be brand new. Not to mention we all need cool agendas and notebooks.

5. Greek Life and/or Clubs

Greek life and clubs are a huge part of most schools, and is a really fun thing to be a part of, but boy, is it expensive. With those things come dues, T-shirts, and other various costs. But, don’t let that deter you from joining. It really is worth it!

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
