With a clear sight of winter break beginning in a few days, there is no doubt that you are not already getting into the holiday spirit. Whether you decorated your room, a Christmas tree, or lit a Hanukkah Menorah, you are still taking part in the most wonderful time of the year.
Besides the excitement of spending time with family and friends, holiday movies for sure cannot be beaten. Here are my top 5 classic holiday movies that you should make sure you see this season:
1. Home Alone (1990)
Whether you’re laughing at Kevin’s schemes, scared of Old Man Marley, or quoting every word to Johnny and Snakes, this movie will forever be a classic and a number one. This movie will get you laughing for hours, and is family friendly, too.
2. Miracle on 34th Street (1947 or 1994)
Beginning with the infamous Thanksgiving Day Parade and ending with a loving end, this movie will definitely warm your heart.
3. The Polar Express (2004)
“Cause that’s the way things happen on the Polar Express…”
The music in this movie will keep you entertained through its entirety. This classic movie of a group of children taking a train to the North Pole on Christmas Eve shows the innocence of children, as well as the importance of believing.
4. Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)
The story of the Grinch brings every person back to their childhood with a classic from Dr. Seuss. Cindy Lou’s caring nature will be something kids could look up to, and Whoville’s unity will bring an entire town together.
5. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989)
The Griswold family is back again with another comedy to get your family laughing. It wouldn’t be a Griswold vacation if something didn’t go wrong, so tune in to find out!
Happy movie watching!
