My Top 5 Bible Verses To Live By

As a human, you live your life. You have constant struggles and you deal with difficult things on a daily basis, but you also have more joy than you ever thought imaginable. When in times of extreme sadness or extreme joy, I look to the Bible for comfort or reassurance. Knowing that God can handle any situation makes me feel constantly better. Sometimes you just need that reminder, and I'm going to give it to you. Here are my top five favorite Bible verses of all time.

5. “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth." - Isaiah 43: 18-19

It's always nice to know that you can always be moving forward in life. No matter what you do and what mistakes you have made, God will keep you on the right track. Don't dwell on the past; look to making improvements in the future.

4. "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God." - Phillipians 4:6

This one is a biggie for me. After being diagnosed with anxiety and depression a few years ago, life has been an uphill battle most days. But this lets me know that I need to rely on God. Not only God, but rely on others around me who show me God's love every day. No one can do it all alone, and this is a good reminder to ask for help sometimes.

3. "Persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed." - 2 Corinthians 4:9

Life will drag you down. Life will sometimes beat you to a pulp, but still you will rise. You will move past these struggles.

2. "And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men." - Colossians 3:23

Work hard. Constantly strive for the highest in everything you do. Don't worry about what people will think of you. As long as you have a serving heart, you will be okay.

1. "The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace." - Numbers 6:24-26

My absolute favorite verse was introduced to me in high school when my favorite deacon started singing it as a song. Anytime I have a hard time, this song automatically pops into my head. I know that God will always give me peace in the end, no matter how hard the situation.

Use these. Love these. Live by these. I can promise, you will feel more peace than you ever have before.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
