As finals are coming closer, at least for those on the semester system (good luck to those fighting through the quarter system), it's also the time that we, students, become best at procrastination. This fine device of a method can be used to avoid papers, "forget" about team meetings, or just put off that exam studying until 3 hours before. While most people will be advising you on how not to procrastinate, here are my two cents of a few methods of procrastination I can offer you. This list is in no way complete.
1. Clean your room.
Now, this may seem bizarre, but a clean room is the first step to being able to study. A clean desk? Space for your laptop and papers? Wow, a seat that isn't covered in clothes. Great, now get on it. Or, continue onto step two.
2. Clean the kitchen.
If you live with other people, chances are that your kitchen is always slightly sticky or greasy. And let's not even talk about the fridge. But, you'll want a clean kitchen to be able to prepare yourself a nice snack before getting a start on those projects that you've put off for 5 days.
3. Take a nap.
If you've completed steps 1 and 2, you deserve a nice, long afternoon nap. Those tasks are really draining, and you really want to make sure that you have a clear mind before starting an 8-page history paper on a book you haven't read.
Great job. Hate to tell you this, but it's really time to start studying.
