A Sleeper is a term used loosely in Fantasy Football to describe a player that has a big game after being recently picked up off the waivers. The player usually goes undrafted, or dropped off of someone's roster, and has a monster game. I've seen both sides of the equation, I have had a Sleeper go off for my team and have a Sleeper destroy my team. It boils down to who did their research and who has luck on their side. I'm here to give you all my Sleepers to watch for this week of games.
1. Carson Wentz, QB, Philadelphia Eagles
Carson Wentz has shocked the NFL world with his exceptional play at the NFL level as a rookie. Wentz is playing out his mind, the numbers back up the claim. Wentz has thrown 5 touchdowns through his first 3 games and completed 64.7% of his passes. He is averaging 7.5 yards per pass attempt and has a solid QBR of 68.9 as a rookie. He is exceeding expectations as the future of the Eagles franchise and is only getting better. Last week he shredded the Steeler's secondary for 301 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. Be on the lookout for Wentz as the Eagles take on a shaky Lions defense who is allowing a little over 28 points per game. Wentz is a good start if you are in need of a QB
2. Christine Michael, RB, Seattle Seahawks
Christine Michael had a great outing against the 49ers in week 3 totaling up 101 yards and 2 touchdowns. He looked like he was waiting for his moment to prove his worth to the Seahawks. Michael was a valuable asset for anyone's team in week 3 as he racked up 22 fantasy points. Even though the Seahawks have a bye in week 5 they take on a Falcons defense that is allowing 120 rushing yards a game. I expect a heavy dose of Michael and newly acquired C.J. Spiller as they tantalize the Falcons defense. Michael is a good start at the RB2 or Flex position.
3. Terrelle Pryor, WR, Cleveland Browns
Terelle Pryor is a versatile playmaker for the Browns this season as he can play Quarterback, Wide Reciever, and Running Back in a single game. He is a Fantasy Owners dream when it comes to the ways he can score you points. In his last game against the Dolphins, he caught 8 balls for 144 yards and ran for a touchdown picking up 20 yards on 4 attempts rushing. The Browns take on the Patriots with Tom Brady back at the helm so I don't expect much from the Browns as a whole, but be on the lookout for Pryor as he looks to prove the Patriots they made the wrong decision on cutting him earlier this year. Pryor is a good start for the Flex or WR2 position.
