Now you must be wondering, why the heck am I watching sad movies about dogs? I have no idea! But I found myself being introduced to these movies some way or another and I decided to share my take on the top 3 saddest dog movies I’ve ever seen. So in case you’re looking for a good cry, or a test of your sympathy, take a gamble and watch any of these picks.

1. Hearty Paws

Before I say anything about the actual movie, I just want to let y’all know that this is a Korean movie. I, myself, am not Korean so I watched it with English subtitles. If you’re a person who does not like subtitles, fear not! I hate subtitles on my screen, but I find that if it’s in a different language (the movie) then it’s more bearable. PLUS, this is an extremely sad movie. I’m a blubbering mess of water works every time I watch this movie...and I’ve watched it around 4 times. If you don’t shed a tear watching this, I swear you have no heart.

A small backstory to this movie is basically a journey of two children abandoned by their mother. The older brother acts as a father figure and protects the younger sister. For her birthday, he stole her a puppy so she’d never be alone.

Watch. It.

Seriously.

I'll even link you, right here.

2. Hachi: A Dog’s Tale

Okay, so before I mention what Hachi is about, I’ve been told that this is the saddest movie ever involving a dog. And for those extreme Hatchi fans out there, I’m sorry to disappoint you with my top 3 selection. Although I do agree that this movie was pretty sad, I ranked it as second because I believe that Hearty Paws definitely surpasses it. Give it a chance before you try to bite my head off.

Anyway, Hachi tells a tale about a dog lost in transit and is found by this man who develops an extremely close bond to. No one has claimed the dog either. His loyalty proves beyond imaginable as he walks the man to the train and waits for him there when he’s off from work.

3. Marley & Me

This was the first sad movie involving a dog that I ever watched. I don’t know how I came across it (I just don’t remember) but I watched it twice. The back story is about this newlywed couple who is considering children. They get a dog to see if they’re ready for a family, but the dog seems to be more of a handful than they bargained for. The story of the dog leads to a newspaper column, sharing all the whacky adventures.

Now to be fair, I only saw these three sad movies about dogs. But out of the three, this is how I rank them. If any of you have any suggestions or feel that a movie not listed that should be, please tell me!

It’s also sad to say that I forced my mom to watch all three movies with me at some point in time. And she hates me for it. Because she cried, immensely. Also, if you’re reading this (which I hope you are) sorry bae for forcing you to watch Hearty Paws with me - resulting in an awkward bawling our eyes out but laughing in between moment...I love you.

So grab some tissues, or a whole tissue box, and get ready to cry.

10 Truths About Being In A Sorority

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
