I'm an avid portrait photographer who loves shooting outdoors. And if you like or are either of those things (a photographer, or likes the outdoors), this list is for you! Today I'll be talking about a few of my favorite places to go for shoots or just to hang out in Portland, Oregon.
1. Sauvie Island
Sauvie is an amazing place if you want to get out of the city in a short amount of time. It's only 20 minutes from downtown Portland, and it's as if you've been transported to another state. It has endless miles of roads to drive down, it has pumpkin patches, and it has berry picking for all your summer pie needs!
2. Smith and Bybee Wetlands Area
Located in North Portland, this quiet hidden wetlands area can be difficult to find, but is definitely worth the trip! There are trails to shoot on, or if you're brave enough, the lakes make a great background for a water shoot! Be sure to wear rainboots as it can be a muddy and wet place.
3. Washington Park
Amongst the hundreds of parks in Portland, Washington Park is one of my favorites. tucked away behind NW Portland, it's a destination for all. With luscious trees and flowers everywhere, it makes for a great spring shoot!
So these are just a few suggestions to get you started, but Portland is full of fun adventuress place to go and see! I encourage you to explore and find fun and exciting places of your own!
