Summer means so many different things for college students; it could be freedom from school or a time to relax, but most likely it means you have to go back to work or find a summer job to try to make as much money as possible before being a broke student again. These are some of the top college summer jobs.
1. Amusement park employee
This sounds like an amazing job in theory; you get free entry into the park, can go on the rides as many times as you want and you can catch some of the concerts there, but in reality your feet will hurt after standing so much, you'll get a farmer's tan and, at one point or another, you may have to clean up puke.
2. Babysitter
You are basically being paid to hang out with kids and make sure they don't get hurt or die. It's a pretty easy and fun job to me.
3. Bar back
It may not be as glorious as being a bartender or a server, but you will still get tips and you are helping to make the whole bar/restaurant run smoothly
4. Bartender
This is probably the top or at least one of the top jobs all college kids want. You get to chat up the locals, make awesome drinks and have a drink on the job.
5. Camp counselor
Making crafts, going on hikes and climbs and kayaking: It's kind of like babysitting but you also get to be outdoors all the time and basically get paid to be a kid again!
6. Caregiver or CNA
Speaking as a CNA, I'll say that this is not a glamorous job at all, but you do get paid well depending on where you work. And sometimes, working with the elderly can be extremely rewarding.
7. Country club employee
You could be a cart girl, work the concession stand, etc.
8. Construction/landscaping
This is a great job if you're good with your hands and want to help build some great stuff!
9. Drug store employee
CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, etc. are always hiring, and it's an easy first job if you didn't work in high school.
10. Event usher
Free concerts and shows? Yes, please.
11. Fitness trainer/instructor
Getting paid to work out and help others get the body they want? Sounds good to me.
12. Golf caddie
Golf caddies make a lot of money for minimal effort. If you don’t mind khaki shorts and lugging someone’s golf clubs around for a few hours, get ready to hit the country club.
13. Host/hostessing
Like being a bar back, you won't get as many tips, but you're still needed and appreciated.
14. House/pet sitter
When all your neighbors go down to their beach houses or go on vacations you literally get paid to water their plants and make sure their house doesn't burn down.
15. Ice cream scooper
16. Intern
Depending on your major you could get some amazing intern opportunities over the summer. Sure you may not get paid or get paid well, but the experience will be worth it.
17. Lifeguard
You get paid to basically tan and make sure everyone is okay while at the beach or the pool.
18. Mover
My only advice is to lift with your legs, not your back. Good luck!
19. Painter
If you don't mind the fumes of paint and want a quick buck, then painting is for you!
20. Research assistant
Hang out with your favorite professor and get on their good side. You’re almost guaranteed to get an A next semester.
21. Swim instructor
You get to hang out in the pool all day and teach little kids how to swim. Sounds good to me!
22. Tutor
Sit at a coffee shop for a few hours and read some papers and do some math problems? Easy-peasy.
23. Uber driver
If you have a car, this is the easiest job to get. You pick your hours and you can help make sure
everyone gets to where they're going safe and sound.
24. Waiter/waitress
Depending on where you work you could make more in tips than most people with other jobs make in a week!
25. Work at the mall
It has AC, you get pretty good discounts and depending on the mall you will have some really good food options. So as Robin Sparkles says, "let's go to the mall today."
