Today my plane touched down in London Gatwick. The seven-hour and forty-five-minute flight was uneventful but full of delicious food and wine. I tried to get some sleep but found myself enthralled with a new book and jamming to some good tunes. I did not make a playlist for this flight, but I wish I had so I could have avoided all the times I ended up skipping songs.

Here is a list of the songs I wanted to hear on repeat on this flight because they never get old:

1. Guys My Age by Hey Violet

This is Hey Violet's newer single. I actually heard them sing this live when they opened for 5 Seconds of Summer at Madison Square Garden.

You can watch the music video here.

2. Red Eye by Vance Joy

This song is from Vance Joy's "dream your life away" album.

Here is the official audio.

3. Don't Leave by Snakeships & MØ

The first time I really listened to this song was while I was watching a Shameless Gallavich fanvideo. The version of the song that was in that video was a cover but I really love the original.

You can watch the music video here.

4. Going Out Fighting by Minutes Til Midnight

This song always gets me really pumped. If I worked out, I would use this as a workout song. For now, this is a song that I imagine would play in the soundtrack of my life. The first time I heard this song was in an episode of Shameless and I have been addicted since.

The audio for this song is here.

5. Ends of the Earth by Lord Huron

This is another song that I originally heard on an episode of Shameless. In case you have yet to notice, I am a bit obsessed with the show, plus you can make a great playlist from the music that plays during end scenes. This song is just beautiful and relaxing. If you have a bedtime playlist, this would also work for that.

6. Close (feat. Tove Lo) by Nick Jonas

I'm not sure why, but I love this song. It is just so addicting. Sometimes, I go for a walk and only listen to this song. I can walk, sleep, drive and fly to this song.

7. Shape of You by Ed Sheeran

I waited a year for more Ed Sheeran music, so I was bound to love his new releases. While I love Castle on the Hill as well, Shape of You is just so damn beautiful. This song drew me in with the first chord.

8. Rehab by Amy Winehouse

I have always loved this song. I have never grown tired of it, even when it was all they played on the radio when it was first released. There was just something so hauntingly beautiful about Amy WInehouse's voice.

9. She Sets the City on Fire by Gavin DeGraw

This song is so catchy. I always want to dance and sing when I hear it. I'm not a big Country music fan, but I really love this song.

10. Gold by Kiira

There is not much to this song and that's why I like it. I like that this song has a simplicity to it, but that it still makes me want to dance.

11. Let's Hurt Tonight by One Republic

This is a song that I love for its meaning. The lyrics are beautiful.

12. Castle by Halsey

There is only one thing that needs to be said: Halsey always kicks ass.

Listen to the audio here.

13. Side to Side (feat. Nicki Minaj) by Ariana Grande

I mostly listen to this song for the Nicki Minaj element. I'm not always crazy about Arian Grande songs, but with this artist combination, I was blown away.

14. New Soul by Yael Naïm

This song is like my quintessential travel song. This and other Sara Bareilles-esque songs, are my go to for long trips. They alway make my feel like I am in a RomCom.

15. Home by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zones

This is another song that makes me feel like I am in a RomCom. I just love this song and the happy mood that it puts me in.

16. This Town by Niall Horan

I love One Direction, and Niall Horan is one of my favorites. I was so ecstatic to see that he was one of the first to release his solo music. He did not let me down with this beautiful song.

17. Thumbs by Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter was on Disney's Girl Meets World. She is a talented actress and singer. I have multiple songs from her EVOlution album, this just happens to be my favorite.

18. 7 Years by Lukas Graham

This song is so soulful. It has heart and really makes me want to belt the lyrics right along with the track.

19. A. M. by One Direction

This song is from One Direction's most recent album Made in the AM. This song is humorous and reminiscent. It was one of my favorites on that album.

20. Come to Me by The Goo Goo Dolls

I first heard this song during an episode of Reign. I fell in love with it immediately.

Watch the video here.

21. Out of My League by Fitz & the Tantrums

This song is just so up beat and I love to listen to it when I drive.

22. Great Summer by Vance Joy

This song is from the Paper Towns soundtrack. Both the novel, movie and this song are perfect for long distance travels.

Listen to the audio here.

23. Sweet Disposition by The Temper Trap

This song makes me feel like I am time traveling and is perfect for those moments when I want to doze off for a bit.

Most of the music I grew up with were oldies, R&B, Hip Hop, and Rap, so my alt and pop library comes from word of mouth and different soundtracks from shows and movies. What do you listen to during your travels? Comment your playlists and any musical suggestions you have.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
