Top 16 Things I Look For In My Husband

Oooooo boy ...

Top 16 Things I Look For In My Husband

I was doomed the moment I read Shakespeare in the 9th grade at 15 ... He forever and always pierced my heart to love all things dramatically romantic. Look — it's not my fault my high school english curriculum included "Turn Molly into a hopeless romantic," but it did. Thanks Mrs. Kilgore.

Now knowing this about myself and accepting it wholeheartedly, I of course dream about my future husband! so, here are the top 16 attributes I hope he has!

1. He loves watching scary movies, Lifetime movies, comedy and "The Twilight Zone" just as much as I do.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know that was four different genres in one, but they're my favorites nonnegotiable. "Harry Potter" ... you better just get ready.

2. Lets me think birthdays are national holidays and in turn, treats them as such.

Birthdays are my literal favorite holiday. I think the day God brought you into this world is a day to be celebrated with immense grandeur. So I want to marry a man who celebrates right along with me.

3. Will find it adorable and endearing that I'm a klutz and therefore, not athletic in the slightest.

It's ironic that I love athletic men, but please dear Lord don't expect me to hit a volleyball around with you or shoot some hoops. The best I can do for you is maybe swing a bat and go jogging with you. Maybe I'll squat. Who knows? But please catch me when I fall and know that I'd rather paint a picture than throw a touchdown pass and please love me for it.

4. Will wholeheartedly support and push me to achieve whatever life goal I set both before and after our marriage.

Whether it be trying to get an A on a test, trying to win Miss America, or trying to start my own business, please tell me I'm capable and can do whatever I want to if I try. And please be behind me as my biggest cheerleader.

5. Will feed my idea that I am, in fact, a princess and in turn, treat me like one.

Look ... I'm as girly as they come. I love beautiful things. Now, I'm not saying that I want every expensive thing in the world. On the contrary, I want simple things that make me happy. Take me on a picnic. Bake with me. Laugh with me. Hold me when I cry. Tell me I'm pretty. Get me a candle because I love those! It's the small things ....

6. Will make me smile and laugh every single day.

I could care less about money or popularity ... just make me happy. All I want is happy.

7. Wants children.

Deal breaker. I cannot wait to be a mother and I will marry a man who will be a loving, responsible father. End of story.

8. Will let me put yellow in the house because it's my favorite color.

It's bright and happy and the color of sunshine. Need I say more?

9. Will let me have both a cat and a dog.

I want both ... #princess

10. Will do whatever he can to support out family, even though he knows he's not doing it alone.

Coming from a single parent home where I watched my mom struggle, I will marry a man who will help provide. Now, I'm not saying I'll be sitting at home and clean the carpet all day — I will work too. But I refuse to work alone.

11. Lets me sing in the car and sometimes sings along.

Singing and music are arguably the things that most shaped me into the person I am. I constantly sing in the car, the shower, the morning, the mirror...its never gonna stop. So you might as well just sing along.

12. Rings a cowbell beside me even if he graduated from another university.

I bleed maroon and white. I am a bulldog through and through. I am True Maroon. Heck, I'm Miss Maroon and White 2016. I understand that you you graduated from your own university and feel as deeply about yours as I do mine. I promise to support your university if you support mine ... unless it Ole Miss ... in that case, darling we're just gonna divided.

13. Dances with me.

I may not be the best, but going dancing is the number one thing I love to do for fun. So please dance with me. Even if we can't go out, just put on some tunes in the living room. It'll make me so happy.

14. Buys me flowers just because.

Dancing is my number one favorite thing to do, but flowers are my number one favorite gift to receive. I love roses (any color), calla lilies and my favorites are peonies. But honestly, flowers from the side of the road will do.

15. Loves and respects my family.

I don't come from a big family. So that means I'm pretty close to all of them and they're opinion matters to me. Respecting someone should go without saying, but respecting my family is a must. And if you happen to love them and they love you, added plus.

16. Loves the Lord more than he loves me.

Oh the deal breaker of all deal breakers.

I love the Lord. He is my rock, my salvation and my guiding hand. He directs my path and I follow where he leads. He is my sovereign and I trust his plans- including who he's chosen for me to marry. And I want you to be the same way. I want to you cling to the Lord for more than you do to me. I want to look to him for guidance before you look to me. I want you to talk to God about your problems before bringing them to me. He is the one and only person who can give you solid answers. I only hope that I can help the Lord with being the perfect wife to you.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
