This past week, television broadcast companies have issued which of their televisions shows will make it or break it onto the next season. For some reason, I usually get attached to those series that don't make it to the next round. It might just be my taste in shows, but I figured I would share a few of my favorites that I was really rooting to make it to one more season. Here are my favorite 15 shows that I truly wish were brought back a while ago:
1. Moonlight (2007-2008 CBS)
Starring Alex O'Loughlin (Hawaii Five-O) and Sophia Myles, this drama series centered around two private investigators Mick St. John and Beth Turner. Mick has one secret behind his investigating skills.....he is a vampire. With all of the science fiction and fantasy series making it big these days, I think it would have been a perfect time for a Moonlight revival. It should be mentioned that this series came out before the first "Twilight" movie.
2. Legend of the Seeker (2008-2010 CW/ ABC)
After the army of Darken Rahl, an evil warlord, begins to take over the Midlands, Khalan ventures into the Westland in order to find The Seeker and The Wizard who were prophesied to defeat Rahl. This series is like a twist between Games of Thrones and Lord of The Rings. Based on the book series, Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind this television series only lasted two seasons but the adventures do continue in the book series.
3. Crusoe (2008-2009 NBC)
This series tells the story of Robinson Crusoe and Friday who survived a shipwreck and were left stranded on an island. The two have encounters with pirates that threaten their survival on the island. The storyline is loosely based on "Robinson Crusoe" by Daniel Defoe.
4. Atlantis (2013-2015)
This BBC show was created by writers of the hit series Merlin. It centers around a man named Jason who was taken undersea from Earth into the land of Atlantis. There he befriends Hercules and Pythagoras who help him save the city of Atlantis from corrupt rulers while encountering Greek mythology creatures. Jason also engages in romance with the princess of Atlantis who he vows to protect.
5. Happy Endings (2011-2013)
This is one of the most surprising series to get cancelled. With an all-star cast the series overviews six best friends who each have very distinct personalities. The cast includes Damon Wayans Jr ("New Girl", "Brooklyn Nine-Nine")., Eliza Coupe ("Benched", "The Mindy Project"), Casey Wilson("Saturday Night Live"), and Adam Pally ("The Mindy Project").
6. Secret Circle (2011-2012 CW)
After moving to Chance Harbor, Cassie Black, discovers that she is a hereditary witch and joins a coven with five other teenagers. The series stars Britt Robertson (The Longest Ride) and includes Phoebe Tonkin (The Originals). This TV show only lasted one season but since it is based off of the Secret Circle book series by L.J. Smith, the story can be resumed through reading.
7.Ghost Whisperer (2005-2010 CBS)
This show stars Jennifer Love Hewitt as the Ghost Whisper, a woman who can communicate with ghosts and help them pass into the light while struggling to maintain a normal life. This show ran for 5 seasons but I still think it deserves a few more runs!
8. Chuck (2007-2012 NBC)
Zachary Levi stars as Chuck, a computer whiz and employee at the Buy More who deciphers a coded email from the CIA which sends top secret spy information into his brain. From that moment on, Chuck is sent on top secret missions by the CIA while remaining a loyal employee at the Buy More.
9. Merlin (2008-2012 BBC)
This series tells the story of a young wizard named Merlin, who must keep his powers a secret because Camelot banned magic. Merlin is a servant to the soon to be King Arthur who is a self centered teenager at the time. The two become close friends and tackle the strange encounters that their kingdom comes across.
10. Dracula (2013-2015 NBC)
The series begins as Dracula played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers (The Tudors) travels to start a new life in Victorian London and poses as an American inventor. His goal is to bring all of his crazy inventions into the homes of every London citizen. His only flaw is that he keeps seeing a woman who seems to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.
11. Flight 29 Down (2005-2007 Discovery Kids)
This was one of my favorite shows growing up. A group of teenagers are left stranded on an island after a tropical storm crashes their plane. The group decides to use their solar powered video camera as a way to keep track of their journey. The show has been compared to a kid friendly version of Lost. The show stars a pre-"High School Musical"Corbin Bleu.
12. Joan of Arcadia (2003-2005 CBS)
This series follows Joan Girardi, a teenager who can see and speak to God (he can take the form of any ordinary person). God gives Joan different tasks to do and gives her lessons to live by. As she is changing, her family is having many struggles of their own. The shows stars Amber Tamblyn ("Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"), Joe Mantegna ("Criminal Minds"), Jason Ritter ("Parenthood"), Mary Steenburgen ("Elf", "Step Brothers"), and Michael Welch ("Twilight Series").
13. Ugly Betty (2006-2010 ABC)
Starring America Ferrera as a teenager with a lack of style who lands a job at a major fashion magazine. The show follows Betty's journey through the fashion world, workplace drama, and family life. "Ugly Betty" has delivered messages of body confidence to many young women out there.
14. The New Adventures of Old Christine (2006-2010 CBS)
This comedy series stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Wanda Sykes. Dreyfus stars as Christine, a divorced mother who her ex-husband recently replaces with a new Christine. Seriously...the guy marries another woman named Christine. Now Old Christine is trying to keep up the times as a "cool mom" while getting into mischief with her best friend and co-worker Barb (Wanda Sykes).
15. Greek (2007-2011 ABC Family)
This series follows a brother and a sister in their adventures through college at Cyrprus-Rhodes University and through fraternity and sorority life. Rusty and Casey Cartwright were never very close but they are brought together to help each other survive drama, academics, and social standings. The series stars Spencer Grammer (the daughter of Kelsey Grammer), Clark Duke ("Hot Tub Time Machine", "The Office"), Scott Michael Foster ("Chasing Life", "Once Upon A Time"), Jacob Zachar, Jake McDorman ("Limitless") ( and Amber Stevens ("22 Jump Street"). Not only does the show reveal some pretty accurate quarrels in college Greek life, but it also has "The Plain White T's" performing in almost every episode at fraternity parties.
