Top 15 Best Christmas Songs

Now that Thanksgiving is over, it's finally time to get in the mood for everybody's favorite season: Christmas. With all the trees and eggnog and movie marathons, it's hard to forget that it is now the most wonderful time of the year. With all the traditions we all hold dear to our heart, there's never a day that goes by throughout the month of December where you don't hear a cliche Christmas tune. Here's a list of the 15 best Christmas songs that desperately need to be on your holiday playlist:

1. "All I Want For Christmas Is You" by Mariah Carey

It's a classic, and you already know every word! Great for jamming out on those long road trips!

2. "Mistletoe" by Justin Bieber

There's nothing better than hearing Beiber's sweet voice singing his own take on his perfect Christmas.

3. "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer" by Gene Autry

Iconic. You can't go a whole Christmas season without hearing this beautiful tune.

4. "Blue Christmas" by Elvis Presley

The King himself knows how to bring in the season with his hearty version of this classic song.

5. "O Holy Night" by Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood's voice singing such a beautiful and sacred Christmas song. Need I say more?

6. "Feliz Navidad" by Jose Feliciano

This is probably the only Christmas song that is socially acceptable to be played from January to November. It's not Christmas without this catchy melody.

7. "Little Drummer Boy" by Bob Seger

His unique raspy voice puts a charming spin on this sweet song.

8. "Last Christmas" by Wham!

Two words: Christmas. Staple. This song has to be played in every department store you enter throughout the season.

9. "Holly Jolly Christmas" by Burl Ives

This classic song can be found in "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer," and it just isn't Christmas until you hear Ives crooning this lovely tune.

10. "White Christmas" by Bing Crosby

Go back in time with this beautiful song. It'll definitely get you in your holiday feels.

11. "Dominick the Donkey" by Lou Monte

This Italian song is extremely underrated. It is both the happiest and most strange Christmas song I've ever heard.

12. "Oklahoma Christmas" by Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire

Shelton's spin on the most classic Country Christmas song will take you all the way to Oklahoma to celebrate alongside him!

13. "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" by Thurl Ravenscroft

'Nough said.

14. "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" by Frank Sinatra

The perfect song to top off your Christmas playlist!

15. "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays" by NSYNC

A young Justin Timberlake singing a Christmas song just for you? Yes, please!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week.
