Music is the one thing in my life that can instantly make me happy. I just can't even imagine a life without it. And what makes me even happier is when people share music with each other. I'm the type of person that will listen to anything. Give me a song, and I will listen to it even if I end up not liking it.

I'm starting a series where I write about my top whatever songs that have been on repeat the entire week. I don't know about you, but I usually find a bunch of songs and listen to them in rotation for one or two weeks until I switch it up. Well, might as well share them with you while I'm at it.

Enjoy! I'm hoping you listen to and like these just as much as me.

1. "Portugal" - Walk The Moon

Within the last few months I have gotten really into the band Walk The Moon. This colorful band from Ohio mixes rock, pop, and electronic sounds that make you wanna dance no matter what mood your in. Their shows are something else. I can't describe it, it's just a feeling. Their fans are unique because they paint their faces at concerts along with the band. It creates a sense of unity that can't be felt anywhere else. This song in particular is one of my favorites. I don't really know why but it just is. Okay, I'll end my mini rant on this band. Just go listen to them! You won't regret it.

2. "Robbers" - The 1975

The 1975 are a magical band from England that can make any song sound incredibly beautiful. I have yet to see them live, but trust me when I say I really want to. This song is from their first album and is one of my favorites.

3. "Last Young Renegade" - All Time Low

This song just goes off. It's an absolute rock anthem that is a must anywhere you go. Listen in the car, the shower, walking down the street and you'll be reaching for an imaginary guitar and microphone rocking out like an absolute fool in no time.

4. "Growing Pains" - COIN

COIN is a band that I recently got into as well. I would compare them to Walk The Moon in that they sound similar. They have a very alt/pop feel that I enjoy very much. This newer song of theirs is just simply a bop.

5. "Talk Too Much" - COIN

Another banger that's just gonna make you want to get up and dance. No seriously... there is no possible way you couldn't dance to this song. It's. Just. Not. Possible.

6. "Rollercoaster" - Bleachers

Love, Simon soundtrack. This band has a very indie/pop sound heavily influenced by late 80s and early 90s music. This song is just one of those songs you want to blast while driving down the highway at sunset with someone you love in the seat next to you. That should give you enough reason to listen to this.

7. "Strawberries & Cigarettes" - Troye Sivan

Another song from the Love, Simon soundtrack, Troye Sivan's angelic voice against this soft subtle beat puts you in a trance. True to what the song says, "You always leave me wanting more", you will in fact long for more after listening to this.

8. "1950" - King Princess

This new artist, King Princess, is someone who you should watch out for. This new song has a cool vibe to it that'll have you swaying while singing the lyrics in no time.

9. "Treasure" - Company of Thieves

This Chicago band deserves all the attention. This new song of theirs has a nitty gritty rock vibe to it. They recently opened for Walk The Moon on their U.S. leg of the Press Restart tour. I didn't know who they were before seeing them open, and I was pleasantly surprised. Go check them out!

10. "Want You Back" - 5 Seconds of Summer

And last but not least, one of my favorite bands, 5 Seconds of Summer. Their newly released single "Want You Back" is different from their previous rock/pop heavy sound. This song has more of a pop/electronic feel to it that fans aren't used to from these guys. However, it is A BOP! Like this song is seriously catchy, so be careful when listening to it or else you might not be able to get it out of your head.

So there you have it, my top 10 songs I can't stop listening to this week. Please listen to at least one of these. I promise you won't regret it. Share and pass along to others who might want some new music in their lives.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
