For the past month, fast fashion brands have been scrambling to disseminate this year’s Fashion Week trends. Some have really hit the mark, and others have, well, given it their best shot (@ASOS’s pink velvet ankle boots—it’s a “no” from me). Here are 10 trends that are actually accessible and so extensive, you might get lost for hours while shopping online:
1) Bomber Jackets
A trend we thought was going to come and go with the wind, but has surprisingly stuck around. Add the longline aspect, and you might as well be taking a candid streetwear shot in the streets of Copenhagen.2) Ruffles
When you think ruffles, you most likely think of Scarlett O’Hara’s petticoats, not running across the front of a sweater — but here we are. 2016 has been a year of surprises, and I think it’ll definitely be interesting to see how this trend plays out. Perhaps all it needs to be put in the center of a celebrity twitter feud for it to fully take off.
3) Fur Scarves
Fur Coats and vests? Yawn. Fur scarves? Sure, we’ll give them a go.
4) Biker Jacket
If you ever want to look like the coolest person in the room, chuck one of these on and at least one person will ask for an autograph…or at least where you bought it.
5) Winter Florals
Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking. Florals for winter? We’ll allow it.
6) Velvet
We get it, the kids love the 90s, so it seems only natural that velvet has made a huge resurgence in the past year. Am I it’s biggest fan? Well, to each their own dry cleaning bill.
7) Shearling Jackets
I think we all need to formally thank Frank Gallagher from Shameless for making this trend a success. This one’s for you, Franky.
8) Turtlenecks
Ten years ago, this is what your mom wore under her Christmas vest. Now, you want to wear it under your Christmas vest—ironically, of course.
9) Plaid
Sure we have our flannels, but let’s those great patterns on something greater, a killer jacket, perhaps?
10) Statement Gloves
Part chic, part functional—you haven’t lived through a Midwest winter until your hands are literally cracked and bleeding from the cold. There truly is no better character building activity.
