Superheroes have been on the rise since the beginning of the Marvel cinematic universe. They have become more and more popular as the years go on. Much of this popularity can be attributed to parents sharing their favourite masked heroes with their sons and daughters. Their children then, in turn, grow up with the same beloved characters and the cycle continues. These superheroes remain idolized through their charming personalities. Here are the top ten superheroes that have, and will, stay popular throughout the years.
1. Beast
Beast, from the X-Men series, is a lovable character with his fair share of insecurities. Besides being a genius and the ambassador for mutant representation in the United States, Beast is full of life--and a hearty crush on Mystique. He has all the dynamics of a well-rounded character. He is quite personable; many audience members can relate with Beast's inner struggle of his appearance.
2. Deadpool
This charming anti-hero recently made his cinematic debut in his self-titled film. He quickly gained fame through his running theme of breaking the fourth wall and being utterly hilarious with his deadpan humour. Between his adoration of unicorns and blind druggie roommate, Deadpool has no lack of shocking jokes. However, he has no choice but to be funny. He was a cancer patient who contracted rejuvenation powers in the most torturous way. Some tragic backstory and a doomed love later and we get the lovable anti-hero we know as Deadpool.
3. Hulk
Hulk is another one of the genius, beastly types. His bulky green form is induced by anger. He spent most of his life trying to find a cure for his ailment, but to no avail. Rather, he found a way to keep his other half mostly under control. His secret? "I'm always angry."
4. Captain America
How could you not love a scrawny kid from Brooklyn? Captain America is the epitome of a good person. He has few weaknesses; his only real weakness being that he cares too much, He comes equipped with a dark past and quick-witted humour, just as any good World War II veteran should.
5. Wolverine
Wolverine is the definition of strength. His bones are made of the strongest metal known to man. He has long claws and regeneration skills. He is unbreakable, both physically and emotionally. Through ups and downs, including many lost lovers, he has always held strong to his abrasive personality. Wolverine is not to be messed with.
6. Wonder Woman
Both the first DC and female character on this list, Wonder Woman deserves the honour of both of those. She is a strong Amazonian warrior and the epitome of feminism. She does not need a man to look after her; she just needs her sword and shield. She is strong and proves that you can defeat evil and look gorgeous doing it.
7. Iron Man
Iron Man, Tony Stark: take away his suit and what is he? A billionaire Playboy Philanthropist. He has oodles of cash at his disposal and uses it to create the newest and improved weapons. His tinkering habits come in handy, since he uses those skills to keep himself alive by way of an arc reactor in his chest. I will say it time and time again. If Batman and Iron Man fought, Iron Man would win. Why? Iron Man can fly.
8. Green Arrow
Green Arrow has become popular with his new television show "Arrow." He is funny and great with a bow and arrow. Another DC superhero, he far exceeds his universe's counterparts with his quick wit and skillful precision.
9. Spiderman
Spiderman is everyone's favourite web-slinger. He has defeated countless villains, from Green Goblin to Doc Oc. He has gone through three different actors to play him in films and he is only in high school. Spiderman remains hilarious and witty in the face of danger. His quips keep his foes on their toes and the audience packed.
10. Thor
Watch out ladies, here comes Thor. He is both handsome and a God. He is the son of Odin (from Norse mythology) and comes paired with rule over thunder and a great head of blonde locks. He has to be a good person, too. If he is not, then he is deemed not worthy and cannot pick up his beloved hammer. He often works with The Avengers, but spends most of his time cleaning up after his brother Loki's antics.
