Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year according to about 27 songs (that's a guess, don't quote me). It's a time for family, friendship and, most importantly, the birth of our Lord and Savior (even though all evidence proves that Jesus was actually born during the summer months, I digress). It's my favorite time of the year, and it's many others as well. There's a lot of activities going on throughout the month of December, and some of it can be overwhelming. The most important thing to remember is the reason for the season but, there are some fun things that you should for sure do before time is up and Christmas has passed.

10. Baking of Any Type

Baking is a must when its comes to Christmas time; I mean its called "Baking Season" for a reason. So go bake some cookies and gain a couple of pounds, it will be fun.

9. Look at Christmas Lights

This is one of the most fun things to do with your friends and family. Grab some hot chocolate, make a fire Christmas playlist, and go all around town looking at the beautiful lights.

8. Decorate a Gingerbread House

This one was always one of my favorites. It's just fun to put together a house with your family and making it your own.

7. Decorate a Christmas Tree

Okay, so obviously, you will do this before Christmas, but if your mom is like my mom and doesn't let me or my sister near the "nice" tree, then I decorate my own tree. It's fun and makes me feel super Christmasy.

6. Buy Gifts

Again, obviously, you will do this before Christmas but don't forget to buy gifts for the ones that matter most in your life. If you can't buy anything, then make something. Either way, it's coming from you, and that's all that matters.

5. Listen to Christmas music

It is a must to listen to "All I want for Christmas is You" by Mariah Carey at least 47 times before Christmas gets here, it's a law I'm pretty sure.

4. Play in the Snow

If you are fortunate enough to live in an area that has snow, then please build a snowman for those who aren't as fortunate as you, and by that, I mean the ones who live in West Texas. Make a snow angel, build a snowman, and make snow ice cream.

3. Go Christmas Caroling

This one takes a lot of guts I think, but it's so fun. Get some of your closest friends and just go to a couple of houses. It will be fun and memories will for sure be created.

2. Volunteer at your local Shelter

Always remember that Christ died for you, and if you are fortunate enough this Christmas, then help someone in need. Whether that's volunteering at a soup kitchen or donating old coats, either way, you're giving just like Christ gave his life for you.

1. Watch Christmas Movies

Okay, you HAVE to do this. Christmas movies are the best movies. and you must participate in this activity. If you don't then you are scrooge, and I'm judging you. Oh and you must watch ELF at least 7 times.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
