I am making this list for one reason: I LOVE STEPHEN KING. There is no other way to put it. And so here are my top 10 favorite Stephen King books.

10. "Rage" (1977)

Probably King’s darkest and most disturbing book ever, "Rage" tells a terrifying story of a twisted teenager. I won't say more, but this book is even more relevant today than it was in 1977.

There is no movie. Watch the "Elephant" if you want something good on the theme.

9. "Apt Pupil" (1982)

Also a book about a twisted teenager, "Apt Pupil" examines how hobbies turn into obsessions. Hobbies like the history of Nazism.

There is a nice movie, but it is much more child-friendly than the book.

8. "On Writing" (2000)

A book about... writing! A must-have for anyone who is fascinated with writing from one of the best-selling authors of our age.

There is no movie.

7. "Misery" (1978)

A book about an obsessive fan and a writer who falls into that fan’s hands.

There is an impossibly good movie! Watch it because... Kathy Bates.

6. "Carrie" (1974)

A book about a twisted teenager... I am starting to notice a pattern here. Does Stephen King have any other books about twisted kids? "Mr. Mercedes," "Under the Dome," "Firestarter," "Christine…" Hmmmm. Well, Carrie can move things with her mind, which is kind of cool.

There are two movies. Both are arguably good (I like the second one more, but don't tell anyone).

5. "Needful Things" (1991)

What would happen if the Devil himself came to town? Read and find out.

There is a movie - do not watch it.

4. "Duma Key"

The first Stephen King novel I ever read -- it will always have a special place in my heart (in Atlantis). It's about art.

There is no movie. I think...

3. "Under the Dome" (2008)

A small town in Maine? Check. A twisted teenager? Check. Military personal lying to civilians? Check. Kids? Check. Breaking Bad? Check.

There is a series... the book is just so much better.

2. "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption" (1982)

This story is too short to be missed. It will take you an hour to read.

There is a movie. You have seen it. If you haven't... well, welcome to planet Earth, I hope you like it here.

1. "11/22/63"

It's all on the cover - the JFK assassination. But what if it did not happen?

Series coming out with... James Franco? I'll see it.

Yes, "The Green Mile" is not here, because I don't like the book as much as these above. But the movie is great!

Yes, "The Shining" is not here, because I don't like the book as much as these above. But the movie is great!

Yes, "Dolores Claiborne" is not here, because I don't like the book as much as these above. But the movie is great!

"It" just did not make the cut, but is also a great book.

"The Dark Tower" deserves its own list.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. The transition from living with parents to being on my own was an experience I couldn't have even imagined- both a good and a bad thing. Here's a personal archive of a few of the things I learned after going away for the first time.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.
