With all of the negativity in our daily lives, surrounding work, the election, etc. one thing we all can agree on is that coffee is life. But during the holiday season that is even more of a true statement because Starbucks introduces their "red cups" along with their holiday flavors of coffee and their holiday foods and desserts that go along with it. Of course, Christmas is already the most magical time of the year, but it couldn't be magical without coffee, so without further ado, here are (arguably) the ten best Christmas foods/drinks that Starbucks has to offer during the red cup season.

1. Skinny Peppermint Mocha

I love this because I think the regular peppermint mocha is just a little bit too sweet and definitely too many calories. The Skinny Peppermint Mocha is a win-win.

2. Holiday Spice Flat White

I like this because it's very no-nonsense. Starbucks' flat white is one of my go-to drinks anyway, and I like this because it really isn't very sweet, and it isn't very many calories, it just has a little something Christmasy about it.

3. Eggnog Latte

Eggnog is my absolute favorite holiday drink. If I could never drink hot chocolate, or apple cider again, it would be okay because I would still have eggnog.

4. Cranberry Bliss Bars

I love these when I want a Christmasy treat to go with my Starbucks. Though usually I just wait until my momma makes some of her own.

5. Chestnut Praline Latte

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire...I like this when I'm wanting something sweet but not too sweet. And it reminds me of The Christmas Song so bonus points for that.

6. Gingerbread Loaf

In my opinion, I think this would taste better without the icing but nonetheless, I love the gingerbread loaf as a little Christmas treat. It's like a gingerbread house only a million times better.

7. Gingerbread Latte

Goes great with the gingerbread loaf. It doesn't have a taste that screams "gingerbread house" but the flavors are definitely all there.

8. Peppermint Brownie Cake Pop

Everyone loves a good Starbucks cake pop, they're iconic, but these ones are especially festive. Not to mention pretty. They're very pretty.

9. Eggnog Frappuccino

Living in the south I had to put at least one cold drink on here (though all Starbucks lattes can be ordered iced). The eggnog frappuccino is good for when you're feeling particularly splurg-y on calories because it comes at a price. But for what it is, it's very good, and it'll keep you cool on those warm winter days down south.

10. Holiday Turkey and Stuffing Panini

I love these for lunch, they taste like Thanksgiving, and who doesn't want that?

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
