My Top 10 Songs Of All Time

This was a lot more difficult than I thought it was going to be.

My Top 10 Songs Of All Time
Matthew Postlewait

I have tried to do the impossible. Music is a huge part of my life…I am absolutely obsessed with it and I thought that it might be fun and slightly difficult to try and take my entire music library and compile a list of my 10 favorite songs. I feel pretty accomplished and believe that I have come up with a very fair list. With each song, I have accompanied a portion of the lyrics that have made some sort of impact on myself. I obviously highly recommend any and all of these songs. Enjoy!

10. The Boy With The Arab Strap – Belle & Sebastian

“Color my life with the chaos of trouble.”

9. Weightless – Nada Surf

“Outside just killing time and making noise

And outside the daylight comes, the daylight goes and

Weightless affairs that weigh less than air weighs

makes no stairways just stairs that go nowhere

Don't dream, that it's a dream it is what it seems

That it's a dream it is what it seems”

8. In The Air –Ten Fe

“I'm not through with love

But I'm through with pain

Movin’ on a feeling in the air”

7. Feel The Effect – Tokyo Police Club

“I turn around and now its faded to black

We left a few things unspoken

Can we leave it at that

And I know you’ve got the world on your side

What did I expect

I made a lot of bad decisions I feel the effect”

6.Hello My Old Heart – The Oh Hellos

“Nothing lasts forever

Some things aren't meant to be

But you'll never find the answer

Until you set your old heart free”

5.Guillotine – Jon Bellion

“The secrets you tell me I'll take to my grave

There's bones in my closet, but you hang stuff anyway”

4. Say Hello 2 Heaven – Temple Of The Dog

“I never wanted

To write these words down for you

With the pages of phrases

Of things we´ll never do

So I blow out the candle and

I put you to bed

Since you can´t say to me

Now how the dogs broke your bone

There´s just one thing left to be said

Say hello to heaven”

3. Anxiety – Angels & Airwaves

“Don't pressure us, anxiety

I'm a passenger

So serious, anxiety

Just a passenger”

2. Souls A’fire – Matt Corby

“So come on and hold on to that firm belief

That your soul is a’fire

And forget your, your petty crimes now

Hold firm as the raging sea beats at your door

Stay there ‘till you can’t, you can’t take no more now”

1. Not Now – blink-182

“Come here, please hold my hand for now

Help me, I'm scared please show me how to fight this,

God has a master plan

And I guess

I am in his demand

Please save me this time I cannot run

And I'll see you when this is done

And now I have come to realize

That you are the one who's left behind”

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Sister | Brother Style - Word Press

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
