When it comes to skateboarding, there could be a long debate about the best of the best. There are so many GREAT skaters out there, but who are the best in the history of skateboarding? That is probably one of the hardest questions to answer, but I have chosen my top 10 favorites. Tell me in the comment section if you agree with my list.

  1. Rodney Mullen: Becoming professional at 14, nobody can disagree that Rodney is the most influential, most talented skateboarder in the history of skateboarding. Inventor of the pop shove it, kickflip, 360 flip, impossible, and many others, he is also known for being the best street skater ever. He HAD to be first on my list. Who does a primo and turns it into a beautiful piece of art? Only Rodney Mullen.
  2. Tony Hawk: From San Diego, California, he is known for being the first person to land a 900, bringing skateboarding back in the 1990’s, and for being one hell of a skater, he has to be the second one of my list. Not only is he a great skater, but he is an important figure in the skateboarding world. Thanks to him, many skaters have pushed themselves to be like him one day.
  3. Bob Burnquist: Notable for his big air skating, being Tony Hawk’s favorite skater, only Brazilian Thrasher skater of the year, and coming out on video games, he is arguably one of the most talented Brazilian skaters out there, and one of the best in the history of skateboarding. He was also the first skater to land a fakie 900!
  4. Danny Way: Injured almost one million times, having won skater of the year twice, jumping the Great Wall, going on the X games multiple times, jumping off a helicopter, ALL with an injury and landing everything, he has done so much for the skating world. Definitely one of the best out there.
  5. Bucky Lasek: Going on 10 X-games, having a ton of injuries, he is one of the most dedicated skaters out there. He came out on the cover of ESPN! Also, he is not only known for skateboarding, but he is also a rallycross racer.
  6. Andrew Reynolds: Owner, and co-founder of one of my favorite skateboarding brands, Baker, he is one of the most talented street skaters out there of all time. Known for one of the most influential skaters out there as well, he HAS to be on everybody’s top 10 list, if not, top 5 or 6. He is the type of skater that tries something a million times until he lands it.
  7. Eric Koston: Dropping out of school in 10th grade, he became one of the most talented and skilled skaters out there in the skating world. He has a brand, has won numerous competitions, and has landed insane tricks. Nobody can exclude him from a top 10 list. Plus, who drops out of high school and becomes one of the most known skaters out there? Not many people.
  8. Steve Caballero: You know what the Caballero is? The Fakie 360 ollie? He invented it. Suffering from scoliosis, that never stopped him from being one of the best skaters out there.
  9. Mark Gonzalez: Sponsored by Adidas, he is known for grinding, and clearing insane gaps, and being very important in the skateboarding world. Also known as the most influential skater of all time, and top pioneer, he has influenced many skateboarders out there to land insane tricks. Thanks Mark!
  10. Chris Cole: I had a hard time trying to keep it to top ten. Paul Rodriguez, Tony Alva, Nyjah Houston, Daewon Song, and many others are very important skaters, but Chris Cole has to come down as my number 10 on the list. Known for landing crazy tricks and having a very cool logo, he has become one of the most influential skaters out there for me. Not only did he clear insane gaps, but he also won numerous competitions.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
