Top 10 Shows To Binge-Watch Over Winter Break
US News

Winter break has finally arrived for college students! It is a great time to relax and be with family, but for those of us who have a winter term, it can also be incredibly long. Sometimes we need a break from the craziness of our family (even though we love them), or we need a distraction from how much we miss our friends. Luckily, we have the awesomeness that is Netflix, and those of us that live in the middle of nowhere have the new, awesome creation of Netflix downloads to enjoy. So, here are my top 10 suggestions for shows you should binge-watch on Netflix during this long break.

10. Grey's Anatomy

If you have not yet entered the world of Seattle Grace Hospital, winter break is your perfect opportunity to do so. While the series does take a downturn in quality after season eight, you will quickly find yourself heavily invested in the lives of the surgeons and their patients.

9. One Tree Hill

This series also doesn't carry its high quality throughout its entirety, but it is still an excellent show. There's high school drama and basketball. What more could you ask for?

8. How I Met Your Mother

Ted Mosby's adventures toward finding love are chronicled in this hilarious series. If you're looking for something fairly light-hearted and funny to watch, this show is for you. Just be warned, you might not be completely satisfied with the ending.

7. Charmed

This is one of the most underrated shows of all time. It follows the Halliwell sisters as they face the battles of family, love and...oh, yeah...witchcraft.

6. Parks and Recreation

Amy Poehler's wit and humor. Christ Pratt being adorable and hilarious. Ron Swanson being...Ron Swanson. This show has it all. Definitely watch it if you're looking for a good comedy.

5. Private Practice

Unlike "Grey's Anatomy," this show is excellent from start to finish. It is actually a spinoff of "Grey's" and follows Addison Montgomery and her colleagues at a medical practice in California. If you like "Grey's," you will love this show.

4. Parenthood

A big family faces countless drama, but in the end, they're always there for each other. If you're having some trouble with you family over the break, take a step back and hang out with the Bravermans.

3. Prison Break

Two super hot guys try to escape prison. It's intense. It's exciting. It's amazing. And you can catch up on this show before it is revived at the beginning of 2017!

2. Friends

No matter how many times you've seen this show, it is never a bad idea to re-watch it. You'll laugh. You'll cry. When you're missing your friends, watch six of the best friends anyone could ask for.

1. Gilmore Girls

It's the best. Just trust me. Watch it.

Whether you're watching these shows for the first time or the 50th time, they are sure to keep you entertained. With a good dose of binge-watching every day, we can survive winter break.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
