Everyone loves watching T.V., some more than others, but everyone watches some of the popular shows, such as Family Guy, American Dad and Bob’s Burgers. More than these popular ones though, I feel that there are ten shows that everyone loves to watch any chance they can get. If you haven't watched any of these before, you definitely have some catching up to do!
10. "Sherlock"
Sherlock came out in 2010 and normally comes on BBC America. It’s the more modern version of the great detective Sherlock Holmes, who is played by non-other than Benedict Cumberbatch alongside his faithfully friend Dr. Watson, who is played by Martin Freeman. Together, they go on marvelous adventures finding clues to solve their next big case.
9. “The Sopranos”
This show is about a mob boss, Tony Soprano, who is played by James Gandolfini. He has to deal with personal and professional issues in his home and business life. The show was aired in 1999 and was discontinued in 2007, with a total episode count of eighty-six.
8. “Cosmos”
In this mini-series hosted by Carl Sagan, an astronomer leads people on engaging tours of the universe and the various elements that compose it. The show was aired in 1980 but was sadly never completed.
7. “Rick and Morty”
This is an animated show about a scientist, played by Justin Rolland, and his not-so-bright grandson. Together, they makes different types of machines and creations in their lab. The show first aired in 2013 and is still going strong.
6. “Cosmos: A Space-time Odyssey”
It’s a documentary series that explores how we discovered the laws of nature and found our coordinates in space and time. The show started out in 1980 but progressed into 2014 where it became one of the top science shows of this time.
5. “The Wire"
This show is about the Baltimore drug scene as seen through the eyes of the drug dealers themselves and the law enforcement. It stars Dominic West as Detective James McNulty and John Doman as Department Commander for Operations William A. Rawls. The show was aired from 2002 to 2008, and is comprised of sixty episodes that make up five seasons.
4. “Game of Thrones”
While a civil war brews between several noble families in Westeros, the children of the former rules of the land attempt to rise to power once again. The shows stars Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister and Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister. The show was aired in 2011 and is still being aired today. It had fifty episodes so far.
3. “Breaking Bad”
In this series, a high school chemistry teacher has been diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. This triggers him into manufacturing and selling meth in order to secure his family’s future. The show was aired in 2008 and was discontinued in 2013. Its five seasons are made up of sixty-two episodes. It stars Bryan Cranston as Walter White, the chemistry teacher.
2. “Planet Earth”
This show is so great, it won an Emmy Award. It contains eleven episodes, took five years to make, and is the most expensive nature documentary series ever filmed by BBC. It was aired in 2006. It had two main narrators, David Attenborough and Sigourney Weaver.
1. “Band of Brother”
It’s a story of East Company of US Army 101st Airborne division and their mission in WWII Europe from Operation Overlord through V-J Day. The show was filmed in 2001, and only has ten episodes. Scott Grimes as Donald G. Malarkey are the main actors in this show.
