My favorite thing to do is go into NYC and try all of the instagram famous desserts. My best friend and I share a food instagram (shout out @welive4food) and definitely get excited when we find out about a new place to try. Here is a list of some of the best places we have been to:

1. Black Tap Meatpacking

Black Tap is created for the Instagram world. While they definitely have juicy burgers, you’re definitely going to want to try out their “crazy shakes” and make sure to take a picture!

2. Max Brenner

Max Brenner is chocolate heaven. Chocolate is incorporated into every meal, whether you’re getting fries with cocoa powder dusted on top or going straight for the chocolate syringe, there’s no way a chocolate lover will be disappointed.

3. Baked by Melissa

Baked by Melissa is known for their bite sized cupcakes that come in an array of flavors. They have a new flavor every month but don’t forget about the classics like rainbow!

4. Jars By Dani

These handmade cakes in a mason jar are sure to make any dessert lover happy, between the layers of mousse, cake, sprinkles, and brownie there’s bound to be something for everyone.

5. Sugar Factory

Known for their gigantic goblet drinks, Sugar Factory has attracted many celebrities to come try their restaurant. If the drink menu wasn’t sweet enough, be sure to check out the candy shop in the front of the restaurant for a sweeter experience.

6. Magnolia Bakery

Magnolia is a classic bakery with a beautiful cupcake display. Many people love the banana pudding but I always go for the cupcakes with the light pink frosting.

7. Sugarfina

This candy boutique has the classiest candy around. Packaged in lucite boxes, Sugarfina is most known for their champagne gummy bears.

8. Momofuku Milk Bar

Momofuku is known for the birthday cake truffles, cereal milk ice cream and their crack pie. The bakery even paired up with model Karlie Kloss to sell her Kookies!

9. Big Gay Ice Cream Shop

Big Gay Ice Cream started as an ice cream truck with sarcastic flavors and finally opened as a shop 2 years after their seasonal truck opened. They’re known for their flavor “the salty pimp”

10. Dominique Ansel Bakery

Dominique Ansel was ranked as the number one pastry chef in the world. He’s known for the cronut, cookie shot, frozen s’more and blossoming hot chocolate!

Once you have tried these sweets, post a picture and tag #welive4food so we can see what you enjoyed!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
