The Top 10 Places To Hike In Chattanooga

Chattanooga, Tennessee is a city set along the Tennessee River in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Chattanooga is filled with all kinds of adventures like the Incline Railway, Ruby Falls, Rock City, the aquarium, and tons of Civil War battlefields. However, my favorite thing to do in Chattanooga is hike all the beautiful trails. As Shakespeare says, "The earth has music for those who listen." and this is especially true in Chattanooga. No matter where you go you have a breathtaking view. Do not believe me? Just check out these amazing trails in person.

1. Sunset Rock

Sunset Rock offers a great place for hikers to come and watch the sun go down. It is a short hike from the small parking lot with a front row view of the Sunset. However, it has over 20 miles of trails branch off from Sunset Rock, so hikers have many different hiking options.

2. North Chick- Blue Hole

A series of seriously awesome swimming holes make this destination an absolute must during the summer months. Beautiful and Breathtaking.

3. Edward's Point

Edward's Point provides beautiful views of the Tennessee River Gorge, Middle Creek Gorge, and Chattanooga Valley with a variety of trails. No matter your hiking experience you will enjoy these easy trails.

4. Signal Point Trail

This trail is filled with scenic overlooks, waterfalls, swinging bridges, and water side campsites! A short hike from the parking lot, hikers are greeted with an overlook of the Tennessee River Gorge and downtown Chattanooga. A couple of miles further, and hikers will encounter Rainbow Falls on their left.

5.Laurel-Snow Pocket Wilderness

This trail is named for its two scenic waterfalls and includes three scenic overlooks as well as creeks, steep gorges, a small stand of virgin timber and spring wildflowers.

6. Cloudland Canyon StatePark

Pack a picnic and hike to the bottom of the gorge to discover two impressive waterfalls. Everyone raves about Cloudland Canyon State Park. If you come to Chattanooga this is a must do!

7. Snooper's Rock

Snoopers Rock Trail features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate hiking trail. However, the best part is this stunning view. You have to go see it in person.

8. Stringers Ridge Park

Stringers Ridge overlooks the Tennessee River and can be viewed clearly from the downtown waterfront. An easy trail for everyone.

9. Point Park

Point Park, with an elevation of 2,135 feet, offers the best and most famous view of Moccasin Bend and Chattanooga.

10. Rock City Garden's

Located atop Lookout Mountain, Rock City is a true marvel of nature featuring massive ancient rock formations, gardens with over 400 native plant species, and breathtaking "See 7 States" panoramic views.
