Top 10 Places To Eat In Syracuse

Syracuse, New York is a home to many different restaurants. As you travel through the city it's hard to avoid noticing the many different places that you can eat at. As a college student, the dining hall gets old very fast. Sometimes you need to spice up your day with a nice cooked meal. Those grilled cheese sandwiches get old after you have them seven days in a row. Syracuse has every kind food that you could possibly be in the mood for. From sushi, to calzones, to ice cream, Syracuse has it all. Here are some recommendations to make your day a little easier.

1. Yum-Yum's Gluten Free Bakery

601 1/2 W Manlius St, East Syracuse, NY 13057

This one goes out to all of the people who avoid eating gluten or who have celiac disease. From gluten free pastries to gluten free entrees, this little bakery has it all. As you are enjoying your nice meal you won't even be able to tell that wheat is not in the ingredients. You can order a nice meat-lovers pizza or, possibly, "the shaz-ham." You don't know what a shaz-ham is? It's basically a wrap filled ham and stuffed with delicious creamy mac and cheese. You have to try it.

2. Dinosaur Bar-B-Que

246 W Willow St, Syracuse, NY 13202

If you haven't tried this restaurant chain then I feel bad for you. If you are in the mood to eat some barbecue styled food, this is the place for you. I personally suggest trying some of their famous ribs, but anything on their menu is superb. They have everything that you need to feel like you are at a barbecue of your own.

3. Calios

123 Marshall St, Syracuse, NY 13210

Calios is every college student's late night craving. They have the best calzones that you will ever taste. They will fulfill any craving that you could be having and solve all of your problems. Do you have a late night test that you are stressing about? Calios will help. Had a rough night that no one can make better? Calios will help. I personally recommend the chicken enchilada calzone.

4. Brooklyn Pickle

2222 Burnet Ave, Syracuse, NY 13206

Contrary to the title, this small deli is indeed located in Syracuse. Although, it does emulate a deli that would be located in the Big Apple. The sandwiches that they make are absolutely delicious. They can't even compare to a sandwich that you could make on your own. All of the ingredients are always fresh and ready to go. You won't be disappointed in a nice sandwich from this small deli. I suggest trying the Italian sandwich.

5. King David's

129 Marshall St, Syracuse, NY 13210

Also located in Fayetteville, this hidden gem has excellent food. Mostly known for their gyros and kabobs, their food leans towards Middle Eastern cuisine. Their gyros are very fulfilling and taste great. Not to mention that their service is also on point. If you want to try something different then I would definitely recommend King David's.

6. Funk'n Waffles

727 S Crouse Ave, Ste 8, Syracuse, NY 13210

I recommend this excellent cafe if you're in the mood for some waffles or pancakes. They have the best breakfast food that you can eat at any time of the day. They are open all day, every day, so definitely stop in. I recommend the chicken and waffles. It sounds like a weird combination, but trust me. It's good.

7. Gannon's Ice Cream

401 S Salina St, Syracuse, NY 13202

Are you in the mood for some of the best ice cream around? Gannon's is what you are looking for. They will fulfill all of your cravings with their delicious amount of options. Make sure to stop by Gannon's on a hot summer day, you won't be disappointed.

8. Alto Cinco

526 Westcott St, Syracuse, NY 13210

Alto Cinco has the best Mexican food that there ever was. It has a wide variety of food that always fills your stomach. If you are thinking about going to Moe's once again, try Alto Cinco for a change! Their burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas, and chips are to die for. The food is excellent and the environment is always very exciting.

9. Empire Brewing Company

120 Walton St, Syracuse, NY 13202

If you are looking for a more "sit down" kind of place then this is definitely for you. With a unique atmosphere and delicious food, you can't go wrong with this downstairs restaurant in downtown Syracuse.

10. All Night Egg Plant

5781 Bridge St #36, East Syracuse, NY 13057

This cute little restaurant is everything that you could ask for and more when it comes to brunch foods. Open all day long, you can't go wrong with a stop into this adorable little place. Not to mention that their food is incredibly delicious. I recommend trying their eggs. They're the best in town.
