National parks are an integral part of the United States. Everyone probably has a memory of going to at least one of the 59 protected areas. But let's face it -- some are better than others, because nothing beats a buffalo or sea turtle. So let's follow in the footsteps of Theodore Roosevelt and explore these parks.
10. Yellowstone
Yellowstone is easily one of the most traveled parks. It has some of the most diverse wildlife (that can easily be viewed) and some of the most unique sights, like Old Faithful.
Most difficult animal to find: Gray Wolf
9. Biscayne
Biscayne is one of the most unique national parks, including marine and land life. According to the National Park service, 95 percent of the this park is water.
Most difficult animal to find: Leatherback Sea Turtle
8. Redwood
This rainforest is home to some of the oldest, biggest Sequoia trees or Redwoods. Some of the trees can even take 10 people holding hands to wrap all the way around. Some can even provide shelter for a VW bus.
Most difficult animal to find: Western Snowy Plovers
7. Shenandoah
Shenandoah National Forest contains the Blue Ridge Mountains. I may be a little biased as a past resident of Virginia, but it is one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the U.S.
Most difficult animal to find: Shenandoah Salamander
6. Rocky Mountain
The Rocky Mountains are just that -- a beautiful combination of lakes, trails, and streams winding their way through high peaks. It is also pretty awesome, because where else can you have a snowball fight in July?
Most difficult animal to find: The Canadian Lynx
5. Everglades
The Everglades, like Biscayne Bay, is mostly composed of water. It is home to thousands of animals such as birds, snakes, and alligators. It is the largest tropical park according to the National Park Service website. If you haven't dreamed of riding around in an airboat around these rivers, you're lying.
Most difficult animal to find: Florida Panther
4. Grand Canyon
The Grand Canyon, like Yellowstone, is one of the most well-traveled parks, but that is not without merit. It is one of the largest, oldest national parks, with so much to explore.
Most difficult animal to find: Chuckwalla
3. Denali
Denali National Park (finally renamed!) is home to the highest mountain in the U. S. and Edward Cullen's relatives. You can still see glaciers move in this park while snowshoeing or dog sledding around them. Hiking up Denali can also be pretty cool, I guess.
Most difficult animal to find: Grizzly Bear
2. Yosemite
Most loved for its majestic waterfall, this park gives a new view of California. While the rest of the state is shaking off into the sea, this granite and water filled forest seems stuck firmly in America.
Most difficult animal to find: Sierra Nevada Red Fox
1. Glacier
Glacier is by far the coolest national park. Completely carved by glaciers, these big peaks provide refreshing views to those who can make it to these northern climbs. Glacial lakes, thousands of hiking trails, and chill vibes makes this a favorite of many.
Most difficult animal to find: Wolverine
So get out there and explore. These parks are here for us to see and discover.
