Being a huge theme-park-junkie, I have passes to nearly everywhere. I love the thrill of riding a new ride, but then again who doesn’t? Let me tell you, Universal Studios Orlando is the master of creating new and advanced rides for thrill seekers and for the people who want a little less of the thrill. Big or small, each ride has its own unique aspects that make it amazing. Each one of Universal’s rides captures the magic that is expected from such a well-known movie company. For those not familiar with this awesome place, the theme park has two separate parks: Islands of Adventure and Universal, which both hold the best rides ever. If you haven’t been there or want to try a different experience, here is my list of the top 10 must do’s at Universal Studio’s Orlando:

10. Visit Ollivanders Wand Shop

Going into Ollivanders is an experience within itself. It is located in Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure. There is nothing not cool about this. Ollivander helps a wizard pick out their wand—well he helps the wand chose the wizard, and yes, you muggle get to experience this.

9. Dragon Challenge

What used to be Dueling Dragons is now called Dragon Challenge. Located in Islands of Adventure, this roller coaster has two separate tracks, the Hungarian Horntail (blue) and the Chinese Fireball (red). The Fireball does go faster than the Horntail, but both are equally as fun.

8. The Revenge of the Mummy

This indoor roller coaster is great for every age! It immerses you in the movie completely!

7. Drink a hot and frozen Butterbeer

No this is not alcoholic, but yes this is delicious. You will feel right at home with this drink! Don't be afraid to ask for the regular, it is just as good!

6. Jurassic Park River Adventure

OK, this ride is pretty great because it is not only thrilling, but it cools you off after a long day in the park. Located in Islands of Adventure, this ride has everything from real-life animatronics to a plunging drop. Warning: you will get wet!

5. Fear Factor Live

Yes, I know what you're thinking, there will be bugs. This is located within Universal. This is a great stop, though! Two hours before each show you, yes you, can audition to be part of this show. If you're not as brave as those daring people, the show fully immerses the audience by having them make obstacles for the participants. This show is super fun!

4. Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon

So this is the newest ride at Universal Studios opening in early April, and I received the chance to ride a technical rehearsal of it. This ride was amazing. The graphics were perfect, and Jimmy Fallon's humor is always hysterical. The wait will be a little longer than usual, but Universal make's up for that with its interactive lines. Be prepared to experience "The Tonight Show" through a different way.

3. Rip, Ride, Rockit

For the thrill-seekers this roller coaster is amazing and by far the best roller coaster in Universal. The take off is straight up, and it has a never ending cycle of twists and turns. If you are anything like me and get scared easily of the bigger rides, do not be intimated by the height of this ride. There is music that is playing through your seat that works perfectly as a distraction.

2. The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman

Okay, this is a classic at Islands of Adventure. This ride has amazing graphics. It makes you really feel like you are a part of the Spiderman comics. This is my favorite ride throughout the entire park.

1. Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley.

Let's be real, they're both awesome. Universal pulled out all of the stops for these sections of their parks. Diagon Alley is located in Universal, while Hogsmeade is in Islands of Adventure. These sections really make you feel like you are on the set of "Harry Potter." There are a million small details throughout each part from the employees not understanding muggle items such as debit cards to a singing frog choir.

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

28 Daily Thoughts of College Students

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

student thinking about finals in library
StableDiffusion

As this semester wraps up, students can’t help but be stressed about finals. After all, our GPAs depends on these grades! What student isn’t worrying about their finals right now? It’s “goodbye social life, hello library” time from now until the end of finals week.

1. Finals are weeks away, I’m sure I’ll be ready for them when they come.
