Giving you what the single ladies want….to watch. I know I will probably be in bed watching movies and eating popcorn/junk food all day long for Valentines Day. And I have no problem with that. Being in a relationship can be exhausting, am I right? I’m sorry I’m trying to put such a negative spin on being in love. No hate, love is a great thing. If someone is in love, then all power to them! So instead of putting emphasis on the fact that you’re single, let us invest in 10 different relationships, shall we? They’re not too lovey-dovey to the point where you want to cry but they are love themed. Valentine’s day is about love and a little extra appreciation. Enjoy your singleness and the beauty of love itself.
1. "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes"
I recently watched this movie and I loved it. I love Marilyn Monroe, personally. She was all about her money, honey. Although she was encountered many men, she had a goal in mind. She was not trying to fall in love just willingly, she needed a “down payment” if you will. Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, and she refuses to live life without them. She’s quirky, cunning, and is drop dead gorgeous. She and her best friend stay together and keep each other on their toes. Because that’s all you need, right? Pretty diamonds and your best friend.
2. "La La Land"
This is quite the love story, I won’t lie. BUT. The ending? You’ll never see it coming. If you like dancing and singing, I recommend this movie. Besides it being a love story, it tells a great tale about getting what you deserve and living the life you want.
3. "10 Things I Hate About You"
I have heard many of times that people wind up falling in love with someone that they couldn’t even stand when they first met. Eventually, it turns into them being madly in love somehow. This movie takes that concept and puts its own spin on it. It kind of puts a whole new perspective on the idea of falling in love because we live in a society where we expect love to be kisses and roses, but these two find love in the most unexpected places.
4. "The Heathers"
Another classic. The dynamic duo. The corrupt couple. The toxic two. Do they fall in love over a common enemy? For some reason, J.D. is so attractive and seductive in the way he goes after Veronica. Together they accomplish the unthinkable and have a great time doing it. Young love, I tell ya.
5. "Zootopia"
The kids love this movie because it’s hilarious. I love it because it’s hilarious. But the message it gives about significant others empowering each other is great. Even though they don’t make the fox and bunny an official couple, WE ALL KNOW they were a couple! By the end, I was expecting them to kiss but then I realized how weird it would be to make a fox and bunny passionately kiss in front of kids. The bunny plays a role in supporting her dreams and they work together.
6. "Killer Couples"
This one is not for the faint at heart. If you enjoy scary movies or gory things, I encourage you to watch these episodes. It introduces you to a series of couples that are driven to kill in the name of love. Love is powerful and complicated, and it shows its dark side in this show.
7. "White Girl"
This movie is more on the raunchy side, I must admit. If you’re looking for a wild ride and a crazy, pointless story, here ya go. It’s set in the streets so there is a lot of drugs, sex, and money involved. Are they really in love or just hooked on what they can benefit from each other? You decide.
8. "Kronk's New Groove"
Honestly, everyone needs a Kronk in their life. After "The Emperor's New Groove" movie came out, everyone thought, “What about Kronk? He’s so sweet, he deserves a happy ending instead of being stuck with Yzma his whole life. FREE KRONK!” No, I’m kidding. I definitely thought that but I don’t know if everyone else did. This movie is just hilarious and Kronk is just a beautiful person, so watch it.
9. "Slow Learners"
I like this movie because these people are of an older generation and they still haven’t found love. So don’t feel so bad, honey. This could be you. They get so desperate they decide to try out love with each other. And it does not work out so well. I thought best friends were supposed to make great partners. You’ll find yourself making fun of them both the entire time.
10. "50 Shades of Grey"
Last but not least, one of the most lustful and erotic movies out. We all know the story. We’ve probably all read the book. You know why you would want to watch this movie. There is no need for a disclaimer. Watch this movie and watch your potential fantasies come to life.
