My Top 10 Makeup Pieces

Lipsticks, blushes, mascaras galore; these just so happen to be a few of my favorite things. The makeup world is full of many wonders and tricks that can transform you and enhance your natural beauty. Makeup can be simple or dramatic but whether it's day or night, summer, or fall there are various looks. Changing makeup pieces based on your mood is just like dressing up or down based on your feelings. Makeup can sometimes take you from an eight to a 10 to make you feel extra confident even though every woman is beautiful in their own way, it's nice to have that extra boost. Buying and playing in makeup is one of my favorite hobbies so I would like to provide a few of my favorite pieces.

1. Beauty blender

I love love love my beauty blender. It works amazing to apply foundation, concealer, cream blush, and even blending my contour. Who knew a little sponge could be such a handy tool.

2. Tarte eyelash Primer

One of my all time favorite products. Under any type of mascara this primer will allow your mascara to go on smoothly and add the dramatic effect of false lashes.

3. Milani Natural Chic lipstick

Milani has a great line of cheap affordable cosmetics, and their lipsticks glide on smoothly, very pigmented, and last long. The nude color "natural chic" is the exact same color of my lips so I get the lipstick look for everyday wear without being dramatic.

4. Eye brow pencil

No matter the brand I've used I realized all brow pencils work the same for me because I just like to brush mine and shade them in darker to fill in the gaps. I'm not too big of a fan on perfectly dark and arched brows.

5. E.L.F. green primer

Makeup primer is a necessity to allow for makeup to stay longer and look smoother. My E.L.F. green primer helps cancel out my red after I apply foundation and makes my face smooth.

6. Milani luminoso blush

All time favorite blush I have ever tried. This is a great dupe for the Nars orgasm and is a coral pink color with a simple shimmer that can add some highlight to just a simple makeup day.

7. MAC naturalize skin finish

A really great highlighter that isn't too shimmery but with great light, reflects amazing on all skin tones.

8. Loreal True Match foundation

One of the best foundations I have ever tried. Doesn't feel heavy but provides medium coverage on a day to day basis.

9. Too Faced better than sex mascara

Love this mascara. The brush separates your lashes evenly and doesn't clump up while providing volume and length.

10. Urban Decay Naked 2 eye shadow palette

Eye shadow is my favorite part of makeup, day or night this palette is great for a simple shimmery eye shadow or a dark smoky eye.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
