If you took a peek inside my room back in 2009, covering every inch of my walls would be the golden blonde, flippy-haired young boy who became famously known through YouTube as Justin Bieber. Yes, I was a Belieber. And I may or may not have thoroughly planned mine and Justin's wedding one day. However, Justin has grown up along with the rest of us, but that adorable hair flip will always live in my heart.
Justin's iconic hair was not the only thing that he left buried in his teenage years. What ever happened to the "My World" albums or the catchy lyrics of "baby, baby, baby, oh?" Taking a look back at Justin's old hits, including the new, I have compiled a list of my top 10 Justin Bieber songs of all time.
10. "All That Matters"
Although this song barely made the list, it was too sexy not to be included. I love the slow jammin' throwback that "All That Matters" gives with Justin's sweet, modern voice. Overall, the music video and the song go great together in exposing Justin's sexy side. I really like sexy Justin.
9. "Let Me Love You"
This is one of Justin's latest tracks and it has a nice ring to it. I heard this song on the radio before I even knew who sang it but I knew it was the voice of the Biebs. Now I cannot stop listening to it. Although I really like all of newest tracks (with "Cold Water" almost taking the place of "Let Me Love You"), "Let Me Love You" just had to be one of my top choices. Cause I won't give up na na na.
8. "Boyfriend"
Similar to "All That Matters," "Boyfriend" had that same tempo with a mix of rap and singing, although Justin really isn't much of a rapper. Please stick to singing, Biebs. But you cannot deny that this song had you wishing Justin was your boyfriend.
7. "Never Say Never"
Remember when the remake of the "Karate Kid" came out? Me neither. But how could you forget its catchy and empowering words, "Never say never?" Justin gave my 13-year-old self a lot of confidence with this song. As cheesy as the lyrics and tune are, "Never Say Never" still gives off a great message about never giving up. Anything is possible.
6. "As Long As You Love Me"
I know every word to this song including Big Sean's part. I feel like this Bieber era is often overlooked. It was that somewhat awkward transition from being the kid with the long hair to becoming a man and wanting to do more with girls than just taking them to the school dance. But I must admit, Justin looks GREAT in this video and I would have loved to play the lead female role *cough cough.* The song itself is amazing, though.
5. "U Smile"
You smile, I smile. That is all I really have to say about this one.
4. "Overboard" and "Down to Earth"
Am I allowed to do this? I'm sorry, but I just had to include both of these songs in one because they are just so emotional and beautiful. "Down to Earth" is a total tearjerker that it even had Justin crying at his concerts. And whoever Jessica Jarrell is that is featured in "Overboard?" She has a beautiful voice as well. "Overboard" was actually one of my favorite songs on the "My World 2.0" album.
If you did not know, "Down to Earth" is actually Justin singing about his parents who have been divorced since Justin was young. Whether or not you can relate, this is truly a touching song.
3. "One Time"
The song that had people questioning the true gender of Justin Bieber. Yes, it is a male singing and he is beautiful, okay? I still remember the first time I heard this song. I was sitting on my couch watching "MTV Hits" as per usual and all of a sudden, "One Time" comes on the TV. In that moment, I officially knew that I had become a victim of Bieber Fever and had no regrets whatsoever.
2. "Baby"
Yes, Justin Bieber's breakthrough track. This song probably got stuck in your head just thinking about it. I'll admit it, it's quite catchy and repetitive, but I promise there are more lyrics than just "baby, baby, oh." Before "Gangnam Style," this JB hit had been the most viewed music video on YouTube. Not bad for a 16-year-old.
And finally, the moment you have been waiting for...
1. "Common Denominator"
This was never a chart-topping hit, nor did it have a big music video to go with it, but it stole my heart above any of Justin's other songs. I had this song on my MySpace page because it made it just that much more poppin' (I also likely had a Justin layout at some point). I am still impressed at how Justin incorporated math into a love song. I hate math but he just makes it sound so beautiful. Maybe I'll find my common denominator one day, too.
So fellow Beliebers, I hope that this brought to a trip down memory lane. It is not too late to say SORRY. At one point, all we wanted was to be Justin Bieber's FAVORITE GIRL. It's okay, we all just need SOMEBODY TO LOVE. Thank you for all of the great music, Justin. I can't wait for what else you will have in store for us.
